Brake light stays on. Time to replace the pads?

Just started happening this morning, with the little red car on the lift.

At 18K miles, doesn't seem like it should be a real problem, but maybe because it was cold out this morning?

I was thinking of just resetting it, and seeing if it came back on. If its really an issue, how long before it would come back on?
