Michigan / Detroit e90 Downpipe Install / Performance Shop

Hi all. This is my first post.

I live in the Detroit area and I am looking for a shop to install the ar design downpipe on my n55 335xi.

Any referrals or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I search the forums before posting this and there does not seem to be a similar thread, so hopefully some referrals here can add value to those in the Great Lakes/Detroit areas.

What if I just took the car into my dealer and asked them to do it. Do you think they would?

Maybe the penalty would be I lose the warranty on only the downpipe...

you would most likely lose your drive train warranty

I figured as much.
Wishful thinking on my part. Although, I have read stories of guys on the forum who had service advisers/techs who noticed the downpipe during service and just "laughed" and did not really do anything.

I'm looking for a shop also. I gave motorwerks a call and they said 4 hours @ 99 per hour. Seems like stealership prices

I called around quite a bit when i was looking. Honestly, motorwerks was the best. They quoted about he same for me. If you have an N54 engine or xdrive, either one of those things will cause the install to take while.

I never had my downpipe installed, but if I did, I would have gone with Motorwerks.

If you make the drive to West Michigan, I know someone that can install for a fraction of the price.

Motorwerks installed my AR downpipes with no issues. They were expensive but their work was very good. Xi's are much more difficult to install be sure to get someone good to do the work.

Personally, I would not use the dealership to install downpipes.
