I got my 09 335i 22K miles all options except the pdc for 34,750 ++ 499 bs and 6% Maryland tax...but in MD at least you get taxed once when you buy the car and that's it. Virginia taxes you every year...and the weird thing is...it keeps going up as your car gets older. Anyway enjoy the beast!!!

Come try to lease a car in Illinois for the definition of tax nightmare

You pay sales tax on the full selling price of the car (not just the financed portion)

Then, if at the end you decide to buy the lease out, you pay sales tax on the new "purchase" again.

Ends up being that you pay tax 3X

(this is just as an entertaining example....I understand this thread is about a car purchase, not a lease)

This is the wrong question to ask, ever.
You bought it, and it's done.

Get in the car.
Smile.
Start the engine.
Drive.
Enjoy!

Nothing more, nothing less.

Having recently moved to Ontario, Canada from California, I think Cali still has it way better than here.

Over here, it's the purchase price + 13% tax + CAD 100 (A/C tax) + 200 (some other Govt. tax) + registration and a higher insurance.

I'm glad that I brought my car over from CA.
