bigger turbo's is by far the easiest way to do it...... say goodbye to all that low-end torque if you go for that option though.
the ideal way to mod the 335i, imo, is to max out the performance of the car on the stock turbo's. this will probably somewhere around 450whp on pump gas with agressive tune, big IC, dp/up, turboback etc. that way you can have sufficient power to beat most cars, but still keep that low end torque that won't force you to downshift to get into the meat of hte powerband. |

Ride, clever... Note that I don't have a 335 for the exact reason you speak of. I'm waiting for someone else to do the real world R&D.
Enjoy your catless downpipes...only in the state where no one cares about emissions. You'd never pass the sniffer in Georgia. |

I don't have the E90 anymore, went to an E92 due to circumstances... No more catless for me unless someone can kill the rasp.

I get confused sometimes by your posts. Are you throwing up the smiley cause v1.47 cars do keep up or because people love to think they do?

Ye, it confuses me too. v1.47 doesn't make 360 - 380 whp? Where do you get that? Sarcasm?

Yes, they are twin turbos (480bhp / 457 ft lbs). Quick specs here: http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/2...997-Turbo.html V2s are making close to 400whp and v1.47s are in the 330-350whp range, not 360-380 like I previously said on my last post. |

450whp with those tiny buggers? Doubt they would be able to keep that going to redline. What is 450whp going to take? Convince me NOT to wait for the Audi S4

I'm sayin +1, but don't hate on audi, because my A4 that I also have is smoking any 3 series BMW except for the 335i and still at that it will be real close!! (im running KO4's)

I meant it in good fun. I am a lover of all performance cars, especially of the German variety (currently drive modified GTI). I am deciding between a few cars at the moment and the 335i/135i and S4 are on the VERY short list. Though the N54 engine is proving to be very tuneable I can't help but wonder how far you can push those little turbos safely before something goes horribly wrong. And the new A4/S4 platform is pure MINT. And with new Quattro vectoring system and 3.0L TT like the 335 it will be a monster. And, unlike BMW, VW/Audi has a very large established tuning base (no offense Shiv, I respect all you are doing for this engine). FLAME ON!

FWIW, Audi has hideous resale, even without mods. BMW has free oil changes etc., during warranty. Audi eliminated that program. My Dad had an Audi Fox in '78 and I grew up with the 5000 etc. They are a nice car, but they don't have the same package IMO.

You can buy a car based on YOUR precieved resale value if you wish (because there aren't1 million 3 series driving around ). Yes, free oil changes is a nice perk. What does the BMW 3 series have over the new Audi A4/S4 besides a less refined interior? The new A4/S4 will have optional Audi Drive Select similar to M Drive that will allow the driver to program in steering, suspension and throttle preferences among other things. Quattro has been much improved to 60/40 rear-bias and S4 will have vectoring as well. I see Audi leading the way with new technologies AND design. Perfect balance of everyday comfort and balls out performance at the push of a button. Sign me up!
