Thanks Max. On my Dirrezzas (Street)..

I'll bring the Nittos to the Glen. You are going, right? We seriously need to track together. I think we could be doing same approximate times on that track. Based on what I have seen from your vids (Mosport, you do have a good edge on me there)

I am looking forward for this next trip.

I can lap with jgalaxy on the first day... but then, on the next day he will have improved and I won't be able to pass him anymore. And he will get a few seconds per lap on me.

I'm looking forward to heading back to CMP with Viperclub/Bimmershop and ASE in August. I did 2:32 last year in my 335xi. 2:25 should be reachable in the M3.

As soon as you can get a race seat with 5/6 point harness in the car, you will get 1 sec back if not a little more. It's a lot more comfortable to track as well.

Yep, coming to WGI this Sunday! See you there. I will try to get to Calabogie once again this year, just not sure when.

WGI with CMR

Two awesome days at the Glen. And as usual, CMR Phoenix put on a great event. Very little drama over the two days. An old Datsun 280Z hopped up on FI took a weird spin and nicked his rear bumper, leaving it dangling as he limped back to the paddock to pull it off for next session. A GTR driver with real bad common sense for using unmatched tires that long passed their shelf life had a high speed blow out which not only blew his the rear right tire, but his rear quarter panel and right side of his bumper clean off. Like a mini explosion. Stop him, did it? Bah ... nothing that a set of sheet metal cutters and some elbow grease cant fix. Nope.

made 2:19.2 this time out. There are a few more seconds out there. Just need to find a little more edge to hunt them down.

It was fun hanging with the higher powered Corvettes/Cobras and catching them on the braking and cornering. Mr Seb (The Whiz) has done a great job at making a very reliable, drivable, sturdy and fun little M3.

Changes to the track at turn 11 didn't seem to phase anyone. Just a little more braking with slightly different angle for the apex toward track out.

Watching Antoine, Chris and Glenn was a hoot as well. Everyone seems to be learning, pushing and feeling their way faster.

A pleasure to meet up with our old friends Duncan, Jay, Max and Collin as well as many of the new friends we made.

Next sessions: CMP Viperclucb and CMP ASE with some rented track time at Sanair to practice.

Video's up in the next few days.

It was great seeing our Quebec friends once again at a great place! The corner 11 temporary change was a non issue as far as I was concerned.I think the Glen is becoming my favorite track

Next year I'll make a special effort to be there!

I will need some hand holding for the first couple of sessions. Any takers?

My recap of The Glen.

Very little to say. I was happy to stay at the Harbor Hotel. We need more food options in the vicinity.
Weather was great. Track modification was a non issue as Duncan has said. Can't really compare track times because of it, but I did improve my times once again. Car was performing well. Great folks as always. Joe runs a great event.

The Whoop Ass Corvette, the red GTR, the blue supercharged Elise, the gray GTR and Joe's Cobra... all were given multiple point byes.
Max's M3, Duncan's M3, Joel's M3 and the Datsun were given 1 or 2 point byes over the 2 days (8 sessions). As for the others... either you can't catch me, or the session ended just too early for us to meet up.

Drive back was good. Luckily I finally met up with Chris and Glen and a Mini Cooper S in Watertown. This way I didn't kill myself by falling asleep on the highways.

And the border crossing took 36 seconds total.

What does that checkout entail? And how many run groups are there? It would make sense that I do the intermediate group for my first time out there.

Chris and Glen were put in advanced group the first time they were there (last year). I remember them saying they were constantly giving point byes during that 1st day. Speed is very high.

They have 3 run groups. Yellow - Blue - Red
Instructors are Green and can ride in any group. They have students in Yellow and Blue... You can get signed off in Blue if you are up to par.

Yellow have 4 X 20 minutes sessions per day and have some classes to attend
Blue have 4 X 40 minutes sessions per day and have some classes to attend.
Red have 4 X 40 minutes per day with no classroom attendance required.

LOL!
The intermediate group is a good place to start out at WGI.Passing is a lot more aggressive in the advanced group and there some truly fast cars out there.

Looks like Blue would be perfect for me. Constantly giving point bys will certainly slow down the rate at which one assimilates the track. I figure I should be good to go after 2-3 sessions with some pointers. The rest is open to discovery, he he!

Just like Calabogie, I have had minimal instruction there with the Viper Club. Then I was signed off after 1-2 sessions when I did it with BMWCC Ottawa/Patroon.

But having Green instructors is not too appetizing ha ha!

here's a snap shot of Tony's 2min23sec lap (in bold) compared to my 2min29sec lap.

i clearly brake a lot more than tony and take almost all the corners slower than him. my low speeds are much lower than tony's. his max speeds are almost always higher.
