luckyu, could you just clarify something for us please?

You have rear bumpstop part Nr 33531138109 on your car which is from the last model of E85 Z4M ever produced right?

In an earlier thread, a different Z4 part Nr 33 53 6 770 350 was quoted, this is from a normal 3.0 Z4 according to Real OEM. Not the part we want?

Yves

[QUOTE=luckyu;10855200]That's the rear bump stop & dust tube for E85 Z4. It's what I have on my car. It's 2.5" long.

No wait! You got things mixed up, can't blame you; this thread is giving various part numbers for different parts & cars.

That's what I have (rear). That is bump stop plus dust tube, which you'll need because the bump stop doesn't fit the stock dust tube.

That part is used on a number of cars, don't remember exactly which. Also, there are a couple of different Z4 bump stops, this is the one I chose to use, it's been too long since I looked into all this to remember the details, but this one seems good, if you use another one you're on your own!

Quick summary: the PS is a very nice upgrade. Highly recommended. This is the car that I always wanted. It has two personalities. It is a smooth chill-out cruiser at any speed but when you want to push her hard she ready to play. Just awesome! The entry and exit speeds are higher and the car feels more confident. If the entry speed is a bit higher you just take your foot off the throttle and the car settles without complaints. The skittishness is mostly gone unless the road is very bumpy and the speed is over 60 mph. However, it is more evident now that this car needs LSD. It loves to be pushed and LSD would improve handling even further. Also, I have Michelin PS2 ZP tires and they work flawlessly with PS. I may consider switching to Super Sports when I need replacement. The combo of PS a AA tune do wonders for E90 NA.

^ Nice chest! Cedar? Susp looks good too

Yves, you've been around for a long while; how many miles/km's on your car?
Have you considered replacing the shock and strut mounts at the same time?

Think its oak actually with oil blacked cast iron hinges. Very solid.

The motor is low mileage, 34k ish and in good health all round. I'm changing quite a few mounting pieces including new Dinan rear shock mounts.

Booked in this friday, looking forward to the upgrades.

Yes, great service from Scott at Dinan too.

The parts took 3 weeks to arrive, door to door. One week of that was sat in UK Customs though.

Subscribed to see the feedback. I was planning to do H&R sports + Koni Yellows + E36/E85 bump stops. Now I am interested to see how much of a drop Eibach offers and the result of the RSM from Dinan...!!!!

Hi there,

Sadly, I cant give you a definitive answer on that because my rear ride height has increased 5-10mm!

That might be because I replaced the top and bottom rubber spring pads at the same time though and they are of course more robust than the original ones.

Cheers

Yves

Wow that's crazy. Are you planning to do anything about it, maybe put the old spring pads back on to see what's going on??? Maybe the springs need time to settle, but still 10mm sounds crazy....

Yves:

How many km's since you installed the suspension? I replaced my spring pads at the same time as the PS springs and it took about 500 miles to settle.

About 600km.

Just been out to measure the rear ride height again and its definately settled down an dropped back to probably where it was stock. Looks fine to me.

The front is much lower though.

Cheers

Pleased to say its a much nicer ride than stock M Sport.

Not really aware of the stiffer Eibach springs as the FSD's do a good job of damping them.

The shortened bumpstops are still being contacted by the strut tops but they obviously come into play later so intefere less with the damping.

FSD's do a great job of taking the sting out of nasty broken surfaces, overbanding etc but they are still quite firm, definately not a 'soft option'

Regards the 'look', the rear ride height increase has now disappeared and the front really is quite low.

Happy overall
