Difference between oiled and not?

What's wrong with using a oiled filter? I've used them in the past on my other cars and not harm done to the cars.

I asked in another thread but couldn't hurt again.. can we get this with a DRY filter? The N54 guys don't have a MAF to deal with so oiled filters are no biggie. For us... I'd rather not have sensor problems from oil gunking up (whether it be by chance, or from over re-oiling).

BMS will only be offering the intake with their filter but there is nothing to stop you from buying a dry filter and using that. AFE offers one that is a perfect fit.
