SSR Type F is a very lightweight wheel. Semi-solid forged as well.

I'm surprised nobody has said Neez wheels yet. Easily one of the strongest and most light wheels that are currently made today. Using the same method that Formula One wheels are made, called Cold Forging which uses a 8000 Ton Press. There only a few machines around the world that does this, and Neez has one of them:

EDIT:

Forgot to put some weights down for the wheels:

Euro Cross SuperRim Weights:
18x8.5 ET40: 8kg = 17.5lbs
18x9.5 ET45: 7.5kg = 16.5lbs

My Advan RS with tire weighs 43 pounds. My stock 162 18 inch wheel with RFT weighed 53.5 lbs (back wheel). The weight difference was instantly noticeable. Each Advan RS wheel (19 inch) weighed 19 pounds for front and 20 pounds for rear.

I love NEEZ, but they are crazy expensive.

Isn't that the same way MORR Alloys did theirs? I just picked up a set VS7's I can't wait to get them on the car.

People are making recommendations all over the board, but nobodies talking about your actual fitment needs for your application.

So you want light weight wheels, but how are you going to use them? Are they going to be your daily driver set that runs dual duty for a track day or two a year? Are they going to be your dedicated track day set with r-compounds?

What tire make/size are you trying to fit onto the car? Do you want to go square or staggered, and are you willing to make other modifications to the car to optimize either of those setups?

Wheel weight is one factor, but not every wheel is made in the right widths and offsets for a true performance application. Too many wheels are intended to be run "flush" which does not always work well with r-compounds or extreme summer tires under hard cornering vs. easy to fit summer tires that are narrow or even stretched in comparison.

If I were to make a personal recommendation it would be the apex arc-8 wheels, but I'd be considered bias. They're:
18x8.5" et38 - 18.45lbs
18x9.0" et42 - 18.65lbs
18x9.5" et35 - 18.85lbs

The wheels are JWL certified and VIA tested unlike some others mentioned in this thread.

I'm intrigued by these Neez wheels but am having little success in locating a US distributer. Any clues?

Correct. The MORR VS7 weight 19.6lbs front and 21.5lbs rear, 8000 TON Forged, 19x8.5" and 19x9.5". One of the lightest, if not, the lightest wheels available for the E9X.

Surprised these wheels don't get more love from the E90 community.

From my research, they are among the lightest available, decent looking, and price-competitive.
