OP Make sure you check carproof and carfax for any car you buy, cause i purchased a CPO BMW Moncton to find out that it was in a accident 3 years later. Check my post 3 years ago about my experience.

Nothing embarrasing technically, guess he was suprised that the actual saleman was on this board. (sorry... google cached).

I had a somewhat weird experience with a salesman, i simply asked to switch which was granted with no grunt from the new and previous SA and bought the E93 (previous wasn't necessarily happy but hey... maybe they splitted the $$$ i'll never know and don't care)

Now i'm looking to buy an X5 Diesel, we did not agree with the price last friday, I just simply thanked the SA and left, let's not go nuts... respect is everything. SA supposed to call me tomorrow, we'll see then. We can't expect to have everyone on the same level of product knowledge.... we're bmw maniacs... and can't expect all SA to be on that level...

I know by heart all the different options / cost / combination / problem / etc.

Well i'd like to make a few comments here.
First off i have been on bimmerpost since 2006 when i purchased my first 2007 E92 335.
As you can see by my post count and my previous cars in the past 4 years , i'm definitely an enthusiast.
I love cars and research them on a daily basis.
I have worked in my family business for many years now and just recently decided to try something different.
And that is car sales. Specifically BMW's.
It has been 1 month now that i work at BMW Canbec.
Because of my extensive knowledge and passion for cars , throughout the years i have brokered many cars for friends and family as well.
As you can clearly see as well all my bmw's were bought from Canbec.
So i'm not here trying to promote Canbec because i work there. I have always had an amazing experience at Canbec.
It's obviously not the same for everyone but i guarantee you that they/we do our best to please each and every customer that walks in.
I know Chris personally since we both work in the same dealership.
He works in the pre owned department and i do new cars.
He's a stand up guy and probably one of the nicest guys i know.
Whatever misunderstanding occured is truly unfortunate .
I am not blaming the customer nor Chris.
It happens sometimes. It's the nature of the business.
On a personal level i got into this because i love cars. I love Bmw's .
The joy of seeing someone pick up a new Bmw is priceless.
Not every salesman is in it just to make money.
At the end of the day you have to love what you do.
I can vouch for Chris that he definitely enjoys his job. He's passionate about it as am I and most of the guys at Bmw Canbec.
I'm not here to promote anything or anyone. I'm just keeping it real.

If there is anything i can do for anyone to make their experience at Canbec more enjoyable , by all means do not hesitate to contact me.
It would truly be a pleasure to help my fellow bimmerposters!
Whatever the problem is , there is most likely always a solution.

This forum has a great bunch of guys and i've learned a lot throughout the years here.
Enjoy your Bmw's!!

Youval

In this case(from reading his posts) I imagine the customer was aggressive and difficult.

Just to comment on my previous post...

I said "Steer clear of Canbec" but I've been pleasantly surprised on a recent visit. I guess it's just a question of which salesman you're going to hit. Either you hit it off or you don't. Another friend bought a car at Canbec and couldn't be happier - he was disappointed by Laval. Guess I was just unlucky.

Smile

Just Saying...

have bought 2 BMW's from Canbec pre-owned certified program and have dealt with Johny as my SA (5 stars)... he's been a standup salesman that worked hard on both deals...

Every car dealership has issues and personal conflicts will always arise between two individual if the opening isn't mutually friendly. That's part of sales in any domain. Earlier post indicated right (know what you'r coming in for before you go there and it's not a game of who knows what but rather what your willing to get for how much) If you have friction, stop start over and if you don't get along ask politely to be referred to a new advisor..secret word here was politely. Nobody likes a pressure cooker and nobody like a hot shot.

I've sat at canbec and many others during service appt and always have a ball listening to customers and staff complain... if you have an open mind and a smile nobody is rude...

So I am not promoting Canbec but promoting a chill out attitude for all...

love you car and smile
