I would check the VOLK TE-37 for the lightest and strongest. The Advan RS are good since they are very light but they are not rated the same as the Volks. Those would run you about $2-$3.5k. Another option would be to purchase a used set of MORR VS7/VS8 that weight about 20lbs and can be had for about $2000-$2500 used. Depending on your budget you might want to consider our SF-71s which weight only 23.5lbs for the front which is very decent weight and not as expensive as the other alternatives. |

i dont think they are 19's... because the sport package on the 335 comes with 18's. the best way to find out what you really have is to look on the tire side wall.

Lots of reason to go with lightweight rims. Car will seem more responsive, handle better and accelerate faster. Gas mileage will also go up. Not to mention the e-penis for having lightweight rims.

Check out Enkei RPF1 or OZ wheels (ultraleggera, superleggera etc).
These are very light, decent quality and MUCH less expensive than most light weight wheels. I have the Advan RS wheels for summer and I have the Enkei RPF1 for winter. I bought the Enkei's because I might run R-comps for track days with them. Great wheel for the money.

Get forged wheels. BBS are pricey, Volks a little less.

I have Advan RS 18" which is a very light wheel.
Volk make some great forged wheels except: they are expensive, mostly need hub-rings for BMW fitment, and its a limited selection for 18" size. Also have a look at OZ ultra-legara in 18". Pic here: http://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...7&d=1272929911 |

You can also check out the Forgestar F14 flow form wheel in 18" ! This brand new lineup utilizes a combination of the best methods of forging and casting methods both in the same wheel. This is called Flow Form Casting, and is used by companies such as BBS and Enkei. Flow Form Casting is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim actually "flows" down to create the full rim width. During Flow Forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel.
Weights: 18x8.5 ET48 - 17.6 Lbs. 18x9.5 ET48 - 18.4 Lbs. 18x10 ET42 - 18.2 Lbs. 18x12 ET68 - 20.0 Lbs. |
