That's awesome.

My wife and I once took a battlefield tour of Gettysburg in a Bell helicopter back in the day (early 1980's). That's the last time I flew in a chopper until Iraq several years ago.

Didn't get to see anything as nice as the Grand Canyon...

Would love to ride in it. Blackwater had a few of those.

We could get all tacked out and hang our M4s and night vision goggles on a midnight run. LOL

Helicopter Replaced - 2 good years

Update:

The 330i was replace by the helicopter. Now the helicopter is replaced by this:

The helicopter was too slow and the insurance was getting out of hand, $13,800.00 a year.

I think i might still wan the heli instead. It just looks like more fun. What do you think?

Costs

The insurance on the plane for full coverage is only $1,308.00 per year. About 1/10 the helicopter insurance.

Yes, the helicopter is more fun, but has more moving parts and therefore more to maintain = more cost.

We took the helicopter all over, but it is only flies 85 knots per hour. Slow compared to the plane of 132 knots. We took the heli to NYC and landed at the downtown helipad beside Trump's helicopters. We took in a play, dinner, and spent the night. Can not replace the experience of doing that....

The plane is so much more of a "transportation" aircraft than the heli.

A couple of weeks ago we flew to Jacksonville, FL and it took 4:28 takeoff-to-touchdown. In the helicopter it would have taken 7:45. Big difference.

NOTE:

a) No check-in lines,
b) No TSA lines,
c) No screaming babies,
d) No poor airline food,
e) No connections to make
f) No lost bags!

Hey, even my wife liked my version of the TSA "pat down search."

Thanks for the comments..

Be safe,

Dean
