Well I suppose if he was proper sorry and held his hands up it could have been a lot worse. And I have to admit doing something similar in a carpark once. I got out and looked in absolute disbelief as if the car I had hit had materialised out of thin air.

Accidents happen

Sorry to see this!

TBH though, he made a mistake - at least he didn't try and blag it. And let's face it, BT are going to pay for the damage through their insurers so no insurance woes to think about. I just would be annoyed that your premiums will be going up next time due to absolutely no fault of your own

EDIT: and at least it is only the door too - should be just a simple fix. Just make sure they match the colour right!!

You'll get a free car wash (looks like it needed it).

But gutted for you, as you say, it's the hassle!

I used to have a Lexus RX400h and a truck driver on his first day in the job reversed into my car and caused £3400 worth of damage. The car went to be repaired with Lexus and the day they were finally giving it back to me they gave it a little courtesy wash in their bay, the valeter reversed it out the bay into a Toyota Avensis and smashed the bumper!! I can laugh about it now, but I couldn't see the funny side at the time!

They will try every excuse in the book to get it done for the cheapest possible cost in their own body shop (yes they have one)

Stand firm and insist on a BMW approved bodyshop or nothing as their own shops are OK for respraying Transits but nothing more.
