Broke my propshaft joint

I was driving my car back home from my friends house on Sunday and pulled out from his small road onto a main road. I accelerated upto third and heard a knocking noise from the rear and the car had no drive. Managed to pull over onto someones drive and call the AA who eventually sent me a low loader tow truck which bought the car home. I wasn't sure if I had damaged the gearbox or diff so jacked the rear up and it seems the joint on the prop which connects to the diff flange has failed and sprayed grease everywhere.

Not too worried as I have an m3 subframe with LSD to fit but will have to get the custom prop machined ASAP. Luckily I even have an AR Design differential spanner as I bought the m3 diff quite a while ago. Hopefully should have the car running within two weeks with an m3 LSD.

Managed to get a pic in the fading light

How "lucky" are you. If that had happened to anyone else they'd be up shit creek but you've got all the parts already!!!

Don't think its due to the power, I've never heard of anyone else doing this sort of damage and there's plenty of people running more power than me. Car has done 80k but I'm thinking it is just an unfortunate incident.

I know, I would really be screwed if I didn't have the parts already. Only issue is that I have to hire a car for a couple of weeks which I hadn't planned to do in the first place.
