Believe it or not they are the standard subs powered by the alpine retrofit amp.

Guessing by everyone's reaction it is a very worthwhile upgrade

But these meet ups always cost me money. I love Josh's light conversions so he will be getting a call from me soon

As said earlier, what a great night and a great friendly bunch of people.

Would still be good to meet up again to show off winter set ups lol

Unfortunately I'm working this weekend mate

Subs are standard ones. I was thinking of getting L7's but they are not cheap so am going to hide my credit card now

Yes there was a marked difference in sound. I was playing from an uploaded CD on the hard drive.

My crappy MP3 downloads are not as crisp though. Iwish I had the cd with me and that would have been a better comparison.

No, prior to Alpine upgrade all the speakers were powered from the head unit. It was the base system.

Now the subs, front door mids and tweeters are all powered by the amp. The rear speakers in the door are still powered by the head unit but you can't hear them anyway.

So if i was just to run my Logic 7 front door mids, tweeters and subs off an alpine amp... Would my performance be somewhere along these lines? Or did you upgrade?

Well I can only assume that you would get a similar result.

I have not used any sound proofing material anywhere and I made a pigs arse of shaping the foam that goes behind the tweeters

Approx -10% result compared to Jon's system.
Difference is down to the sound chip in CIC VS CCC.
I have listened to both and it appears that DAC in cic appears to be superior in terms of sound quality.

yup i noticed this too... one thing i didn't like so much is that on the old CCC system the bass would distort the speakers which means you could adjust the bass accordingly to what you listen to, but the CIC system just quietens the music when the bass comes in which i hate! can't wait to upgrade my sounds!
