I love that I'm not the only person who is put off by poorly articulated/presented thoughts... There's a very thought-provoking HBR idea-cast that discusses all of the implications associated with poor writing, whether it be formal or informal, in email, on public boards, etc. Recommended to all with the constructive challenge to maximize the application of what is absorbed.

Now back to this awesome debate.

Something about the direct correlation between the ever-decreasing prices these cars could/can be found and purchased for and the resulting forum content quality of this obvious shift is most likely the reason for his remark. Clue: the mean age of 335i drivers in 2007-2009 is a larger number than today's mean age...

I think you meant to say that the used prices for older, higher mileage 335i cars are doable for a younger crowd now because even a new 335i completely scaled down is still not "younger crowd" material.

Agreed, the used ones are getting into younger tuner based price territory. Brand new 335's are still on the high side unless your a trust fund baby or spoiled brat who wont appreciate anything in life becuase you never earned it. As the 06's and 07's get cheaper more of the younger drivers will be getting these cars to do as they content. Which Im all for, as you get a bigger market, you get more products for that car, which drives down the BMW taxed prices we pay.

I'm afraid the only implication is giving a pompous choad a chance to quote something on a forum. I'm glad you had something useful to contribute to the discussion. But hey, at least you sounded smart right ?

I don't consider proper writing/communication to be "sounding smart". I consider it basic. Very basic. Nothing about it is pompous or even special. I do love being called pompous though, "bcuz" proper standards concerning life's basics seem to be becoming increasingly rare. To each their own. I'll be pompous I guess...

Hey. While I'm being pompous- according to what I understood from the OP, any combination of mods on either car with the result listed is directly relevant to what he wanted to collect data about. So concerning relevance to the intended topic of this thread, if I may be pompous enough to expound, clarify misunderstandings, and try to keep this derailed thread somewhat significant: "

post as much data concerning the mods, results, conditions, etc of as match ups between n54 powered cars and 5.0s as possible. The more data concerning every factor relevant to the outcome of a race, the better."

To help you apply: a magazine that actually documents all of the relevant data about either of the cars with any combination of mods, conditions, pertinent factors, etc is much more relevant than a substanceless, objective statement like "a stock 5.0 shouldn't beat..." I dont see the OP looking for a "which is better" or a "what should the outcome be if" or any other way to justify your fundamental misunderstanding and your very basic contribution, as irrelevant as it seems to be, based on what I'm able to interpret from a topic post that in itself, lacks detail sufficient to calm the tides of directionless, repeat threads or threads that COULD be more useful to the community should the scope be more specifically defined.

Feel free to adequately communicate a response. Be as pompous as you want, it might catch and maybe we'll all benefit from it too.

e92 with jb+ on 100% on 93 octane on optional 19" oe wheels with shitty FUNFLATtires!
Where I'm from there is a lot of 5.0s (and any muscle car in general) since I live next to a army base, so far I've race a couple and have dusted some and there have also been ones that keep up with me and we stay even; Either the GIs around cannot drive or the JB+ @ 100% is that much helpful. BTW it's usually around 90degrees Fahrenheit over here.

A jb+ 335 doesn't keep up or beat a 5.0 they run 12.6@112 stock(american muscle's results)
Either all mustang drivers are retarded, or all the members on this forum are fan boys. Hmmm

I did a 60 roll with a 5.0 with intake and exhaust vs jb4 map5 30% ethanol and dci. We were even for the most part but he slowly creeped ahead towards the end. He was new 6mt driver so that also had to play some part. I got to drive his car and it rips off line for sure.

Yup, that makes sense.
Not like the guy who has a jb+ and says he beat a 5.0
