Fact. more tire means more tire to slide around. You want to cut through the snow as much as posssible, which is why most xi's come with the skinny square setup from the factory. Plus with sport tires, even many all weather tires, there isnt enough tread (and tread variation) to effectively dispurse what snow you have to drive over, and that causes the snow to just flatten out under your tires and you slide around more.
