indeed it is, I was debating on whether the dp with slip-on would make up the power when compared to the evolution alone

The quality, fitment and the oem flex section is what makes me love the Akrapovic DP's..
ETS Dp's had a flex section but they dont make Dp's anymore.

I love my CP-E DP's... But if i had the money, or if i did DP's again it would be Akrapovic since i reall want a Flex section.

I doubt you'll see much gains using a fullback exhaust with stock downpipes, kind of defeats the purpose. Granted our stock exhaust has restrictive bends, but the bigger gains are in the downpipes.

I would ask ETS if they even still make them. They aren't listed on ETS's own site.
Well mate, you didn't get my message in the first place! Im comparing:

- Akra Dp with Akra slip-on SS exo VS
- Akra Evolution SS

because over here the $ difference in Slip-on and Evolution can get the Akra D/p with another $200 top-up.

Which part am I not getting? Maybe you're thinking the products are different than what I'm thinking. Let's simplify it based on what you just listed. You're effectively comparing:

- Downpipes (obvious) and muffler/axle-back exhaust (that's what the slip-on is)
vs.
- Catback exhaust (that's what the evolution is, it does not include downpipes)

You said: "I was debating on whether the dp with slip-on would make up the power when compared to the evolution alone".

Does that not mean downpipes+muffler vs. catback exhaust? If so, that's what I said - you aren't going to notice as much of a gain from catback exhaust alone, majority of the gains come from downpipes. Forget the slip-on part for the conversation, that has negligible, if any, impact. You've already restricted the exhaust 98% of the way until the actual slip-on portion. The slip-on is for sound and looks. If you want gains and sound, get the downpipes and slip-on, simple as that.

Check out this step-by-step: http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/E...p-Dyno-Sheets/

In the last 2 pics, you see the gains from exhaust alone and then gains from downpipes.

yeap, thats why Im referring to here. I've already ordered the SS slip-on. Now just checking out the Akra D/p if LHD and RHD has any difference in the orientation, and do i need any Dp fix etc.. to install in order not to see any check lights

On the akrapovic Down pipe you will see three little indents. That is the flex section of the down pipe. Exactly like oem. It lets the Exhaust system and downpipe, move slightly, so there is no stress on the exhaust system and engine.

Looks solid -- I can't write back on your wall because I'm not allowed to (or PM; just coming off a 3-month ban). I've got my Akra DPs connected to my stock CBE & there's no noticeable drone IMO. I'm not sure how & if that would change with a completely aftermarket exhaust; but assuming you stay with Akra products I'm sure they did everything to fight drone on their system.

hey benzy, no wonder i couldnt find the [send a pte msg] hehe!

your sentence, Im betting on this; i've asked around those with akra dp on 1M, they said very noticable noise with d/p installed? Very difficult to find one running full akra system with d/p here.

I purchased one of the ebay hks rep special's for $499. I currently have Dp's and installed some large resonators before mouning. I just came across a Akra SS slip on and I plan on cutting the mufflers from old set up and loosing the heavy resonators. I no catless set up's drone, but how do you think this akra set up will be?

YouTube search 1M Akra Evo (or some combination). I'm sure Akra or some other vendor will have a sample video of what the car sounds like. You could also PM Mike@VAC because they had a 1M which I think has the full Akra Exhaust system on it

Are you having the Akra D/p on it now? And plan to complete with the slip-on?

I did, but only for 1M, I can't find any with akra D/p running with 335i evolution system; thats what Im eager to know because the dealer has one more set of the d/p left!

I've asked the workshop that did the 1M d/p on 1M evo, and they said the noise dont hit above 1db.... and the noise from the d/p isn't significant.

It's the exact same thing on the 335. I have the Akra DPs & they were only marketed for the 1M, but they work fine on any of the RWD, N54 vehicles (135, 335, Z4is)

Yup I know it'd work, just that Im curious how the sound combined with the Akra evo. Would it bring up the exhaust note or add additional drone to the cabin etc.. ?

I'm sure it'd be exactly the same as the Akra Evo on the M3. It'd be OEM quiet until you stomp on it & that it'd be virtually drone free.

No, just comparing the R&D that went into their full Evo System for the 1M/335s to the one that's on the M3. Akra Mindset = Max power w/ the least amount of weight & drone
