06 325i misfire in cyl 4 on cold mornings

Seems strange, but I am getting a cylinder 4 misfire when I start up my car on a cold morning. Perhaps around 32*F or colder. I replaced the coil pack, and didn't have any more issues until today.

Stranger still, when I reset my adapts / cleared the codes from the DME, the misfire went away.

Has anyone experienced this before? I would like to find the route cause rather than just throwing parts at this thing. I am going to be trading it in in the spring, and want to keep repair costs to a minimum.

Start with new plugs, if that doesn't help, I'd suspect the injector.
