JB+ questions
So I'm trying to learn about JB+ stuff, but every thread that mentions JB stuff seems to be geared towards people who already know what's going on (and I can't search for "JB+" because the search string is too short)
So I'll just ask here! What's the difference bettwen JB+, JB3 and JB4? When I install, do I literally unplug something, then plug this little box in between the two connectors? The website states "For those looking to take things to the max up to +4.75psi can be quickly dialed in!", how is it actually dialed in? Is there a list of what this thing does besides horse power? (ie, gas milage, speed limiter, etc?) |

Ima newbie too and am researching similar things. Best website that I found that explains it was
http://www.burgertuning.com/products.html if you click each seperatly it goes into a lil more. basically from what I gather, there is a lil turn dial on the jb+ that you turn for higher boost. The JB3 seems to offer more results but I am not sure if it is worth the extra 200 dollars. That is what I am trying to find out from people here. |

JB+ I think will soon be obsolete. I have nothing against it, I have had my JB3 since July and I absolutely LOVE it. I just think that, with the JB4 coming out, and the guys at BurgerTuning evolving so rapidly, that they too could agree with me in some way that the JB+ really isn't worth it anymore. It's basically a "starter kit". Which I guess is nice, but if your looking into really waking your car up and getting the most out of her, skip the JB+. If your going JB, might as well be jb3 or wait till the JB4 is released. Worth the extra money? Heck yes.

Installation of the JB+ is really a piece of cake, whereas the installation of the JB3 is more difficult. If you a are a do it yourself guy or have somebody to install JB3, go for it. If not, stick with JB+. Im driving the JB+ (75%)with an aftermarket FMIC: Decent gain with minimal installation effort .

I'm running my jb+ at about 35% and I still notice gains. I bought the jb+ because I wanted a quick install and I wasn't looking to add alot of power. Just taking a precaution. Don't want my turbos to prematurely fail so i'm keeping the boost fairly low.

I went with the JB+ because of the ease of installation, and the gains were very noticeable. I am running it at 100% now with the solenoid bypass on day 2 so the car is still probably trying to adapt after having it set to 50% for the past few weeks. As of right now, I am satisfied with it, but I am pretty sure that if I happen to loose a battle, i will quickly upgrade to JB4.

with jb4 it will also have code clearing abilities so i say wait for jb4 but up what you want. if you get jb+ you will need bt tool to clear and check codes. But now that i think about it BT tool is a must both ways because you may need to scan car with jb4 out of your car.

thanks for the heads up on the JB4...noted!
I saw that the Procede talks about MPG...does JB do anything like that? (I realize that performance usually does not equate to better miles per gallon...but just trying to get a grip on everything) Does the JB+ only change the boost? |

From what I understand, it does something with the MAP to trick your turbos into thinking that you are driving at a higher atmosphere causing the turbos to produce more boost.

Love the JB+. I wanted something simple, so I did the DCI with it as well. My problem was gettin the stupid clip to release...which after 45 minutes of stuffing my fat hands down there..ended up snapping off. But it fits so snug I dont think it will matter. Drives very close to stock until you get on it, then the difference is very apparent!

Now if only they could make the JB4 as easy to install and remove as the JB+...
