Johnny Boost I have a BMW PE. I do agree it is expensive relative to the alternative options that probably are just as good.
I just wonder how a resonator at the location of the DP vs. the middle of the car would change the sound. |

I thought the exhaust note with the stock exhaust + DP was perfect but I wished it was a little louder. The PE + DP w/ resonators has a slightly louder/deeper tone but still no rasp. The cold starts aren't as loud as before either and I think that is due to the resonators.

Has anyone heard this setup? Looks like a muffler delete with resonators in the midpipe?

I have an appointment this Saturday to add the resonators but I'm thinking I may just put the stock mufflers back on, even my girlfriend found it too loud and very annoying with the PE. I don't think the resonators will make much of a difference, I'll decide when I get to the shop!

For an xDrive, does adding resonators produce the same result - i.e. quiet down the drone?
And if so, where should they be placed? I have the VRSF DP & PE mod. Fine with windows down in the summer, but with winter coming, the cabin noise is going to get old really fast. |

And if that's the case, is there another way to further decrease drone - i.e. adding more resonators elsewhere in the exhaust piping? (I have downpipe & PE mod) |

My e92 xdrive has a pair of secondary cats, no resonators. I'm on stock exhaust so I can't really comment on much else, I'm running vrsf dp and plan on replacing secondary cats with resonators.

I am 100% the e90 335i has a centre resonator in the midpipe because thats what i have. I have recently installed the PE midpipe (that essentially has a x pipe in place of a resonator) and PE muffler. I have AR catless dp I am also finding this setup a bit too loud and obnoxious (bit ricer too) and trying to work whether I should a) replace PE midpipes with the stock midpipes that contains a resonator b) install vibrant resonators on the PE midpipes c) replace PE mufflers with the stock ones but leave the PE midpipes (essentially end up lie a coupe) d) return to stock I wonder if options A and B would lead to the same outcome (in terms of sound level i.e. oem bmw resonator vs vibrant) Anyone with any views/ experiences would be great |

so is your setup catless dp and PE with stock e90 midpipes that contains the centre resonator? I have the same setup at the moment but have x-pipe in the midpipes instead of resonators. Am speculating putting the stock midpipes again to reduce sound a little |

I have an IS with the IS stock exhaust and VRSF downpipes. Still have the secondary cats, I was wondering are you guys just replacing the cats with resonators?
