A few changes in the code yes, but most of the tuning maps are the same. The tool we use for bench flashing from 1996 - 2016 does almost every dme & dde, but the MSV/D80.x & MSD85.x. That needs to be flashed via can bus or over the obdII port and it takes forever.

I'm excited for a bolt on cam solution, but do you think the cam gear or cam and be physically retarded for more range of adjustment ? Chance we will ever see a bolt on solution for those open trumpets? |

As for the intake stuff, we had to pause on the N52, too many race cars in the shop, and our project E30 race car is the main focus for us, trying to get it ready for track testing. |

can't you just loosen the vanos unit and rotate the camshaft? I don't think it needs a special gear. I will find out for myself soon enough.
Maybe by the time you get back to the N52, I'll have a prototype manifold ready to test.. |

This is true too, but some people would like something where they could see the amount of adjustment on the gear. That would be awesome |

my idea was to modify a cam alignment tool - it could have preset positions for retarding the cam 5 degrees, 10 degrees, etc. It could be rented out with a core deposit.

HI gents, any news for us? I have a question, why does the single stage manifold to make power until redline, while the 3 stage does not? There also seems to be a 4th DISA event around there, but I haven't seen anyone "turn it off" so to speak.

Thats a very good question, I really dont have an answer for that, but I have tested the stock intake past 7000rpm and it dives just a bad as the 3 stage intake.

I've logged a good increase in manifold vacuum above 6,000 RPM. Could be my stock air filter or it could be something else in the induction system. Simply math shows the stock 70MM throttle body being a little small for the volume of air we need. I want to look into this but no time right now. |

yep. the power nosedive doesn't really look like a VE limitation to me - it's something the computer is doing. I increased my "4th" stage beyond 7k rpm but I haven't been back to a dyno to measure the results.

yeah, usually if VE is tapering off, the torque curve will start to slope downwards in a gentle arc. if you look at the end of my 330i dyno curve, it hits an abrupt wall.
