I reckon 90%+ of M3's in the UK are leased. |

Give it a rest.
Do you have to keep trying to piss people off? You made your comments yesterday and never got the response you desired so you are back again today to have another go. It's way past time to ban you from the site. |

The idiot is the one who doesn't buy their car in the cheapest available option. At the moment leasing or hiring a car is the cheapest way to do it if you only keep your cars 2-4 years. On many it works out half the price of the depreciation, even using cash. |

I have bought cash before and regretted it hugely, I bought my M3 CSL cash and the 120d M-Sport, that was £60,000 tied up in metal. I then financed the 335i that replaced the M3 and the 120d sport at the same time, the 335i was £360 a month and the 120d was £240 a month. At that point it was less than 10% of my take home wage, I will be honest I didn't even notice it going out. Unlike spending all my savings and watching it depreciate. If I went bust I would just hand the keys back on a lease and stash my cash, if I went bust with the cars on teh drive they would get taken and I am seriously out of pocket. We all like to do things differently, I love my cars, but they are way down on my priority list these days. I bought my E320cdi estate for £18k last Spring, and it has lost £8,000 in 18 months I reckon, plus it has needed new brakes all round, brake fluid service, now needs glow plugs, had a set of tyres and two services, totalling around £1500. I could have contract hired a brand new E350cdi sport estate for £380 a month and had one oil service and maybe swapped the rear tyres. Plus I would have had the benefit of it being a brand new car, with full warranty and better mpg etc. I feel a right ***t for not hiring it. |

Based on the miles to date,I'd say the Vreds are better than the 452's, they certainly don't spin on take off as much as the 452's, and seem more grippy. It will be interesting to see how long they last, the TC light is not so disco like as it was with the 452's, so I'm quite optimistic. For dirt cheap, and being frank, rubbish tyres, both the Falkens and Vreds do reasonably well, but I do feel quite dirty and ashamed for fitting them to my BMW I'm booked into therapy next week, would you like to come along? We could form a support group for others

My rears have 3-4mm and the fronts 5-6mm after 20k miles. I'll bin the rears when I change over to the winters and then put the new ones on in the spring. |

I've had 452's on for 5k miles and i'm happy.
Previously had bridgestone RE050 and i think the 452's offer a fairly consistent upgrade in grip, wear and noise. Mostly attributed to the jump from runflats. I haven't tried every make of tyre but the falkens certainly offer reasonable performance for a good price. I'm sure there's better out there but to pass them off as crap certainly shows ignorance. |
