Sticker
If you had the opportunity to pick up a sticker to represent the diesel brotherhood, would you?
If so, where would you place it? Please vote & comment. |

I voted engine bay and license plate frame, although I may be willing to go rear windshield (bottom) instead of the latter.

Hard to say. I sort of prefer the low key approach when very few people notice that my car is a diesel.

That's fair. I enjoy catching people off guard when I tell them as well. I have been wanting to create a "BMW Performance Diesel" license plate frame for some time though.

Am for subtlety. Only for people for whom it will matter and will recognize the difference when they come up behind you at an intersection. So, plate frame (mine already says "Diesel Power") or 335d badge. I kinda like the green d. Although I was going to go all black. PR has a red d on his badge. Have BMWCCA sticker in right rear quarter window. Pondering minimal suspension part sticker in other. AC Schnitzer for example has a nice one I now have but it is white background instead of clear and so I am hesitating.

So the consensus seems to be rear quarter window &/or license plate frame.
DFan, mind posting a pic of that CCA Sticker? Plate Frame-wise, I was thinking something along the lines of the OEM... I think it should be manageable by purchasing a blank carbon fiber plate online (with a full bar on the bottom instead of the odd trapezoidal shape of the OEM), adhering the "BMW Performance Diesel" sticker, then clearing over everything. for the rear quarter, I'm thinking... BMW Performance Diesel I won't actually be using Arial Black, but it was the closest I could come within the limited forum font selections. Let me know your thoughts...Likes/Don't likes/What you'd like to see adapted!

I'm not really one for stickers either, but I thought I'd offer so long as I'm planning on the license plate frame for myself anyway. My plan for the engine bay was to incorporate the "BMW Performance Diesel" sticker into a paint job on the engine cover if I should decide to go that route (similarly to how people mark the brake calipers then clear over all for a fully integrated look).

As far as license plate frame goes, would you ladies/gents want the writing to be in yellow as OEM <above> or white?
I'm working out the logistics now, but I plan to order some for the group as long as I'm having them cut for myself. Don't hold me to it, but that's my thought process at the moment. |

As for my formal reply, I would go with a license plate frame. I think you may find that the number of letters is more limited than you think. Clearly one of my problems is bad eyes, but even with that problem aside, I think you may be trying to stuff too many letters on a frame. As I said, I have just "Diesel Power" on my frame, white on black, in the bottom horizontal bar. That is readable. If I had to do it again, I might have said "Diesel Powered" instead. If you try to put "BMW Performance Diesel" on the same spot, and in yellow, it may not be readable. Keep in mind which frame style you order, because you need to be careful not to cover up the essentials on the plate itself.

BMW Performance Diesel is my plan for the plate, but I'd be open to suggestions for what others would like to see on the rear quarter window. |

My wheels are getting sprayed this week, and I have a 335 emblem being painted to match just in case I decide to use it (not sure I will yet, but wanted to see how it looked. The emblem was about $25 from getbmwparts.com and they're spraying it for free for me since they were already custom finishing the wheels in the same color. |

Nothing wrong with representing diesel power!
Stickers are not my thing but displaying it as a license plate frame or customizing your "d" emblem is acceptable, as long as it isn't screaming attention. |

I think I know how I'm going to move forward with it. My only question is now the color for the one on the plate. Mine is going to almost have to be white based on the color theme I'm going for, but are you guys thinking white or OE yellow font were the plate to be on your rides? I'm assuming you folks like the carbon backdrop. |

Hey, PR, are you talking about a sticker on the base on the kidney grilles (which face up) or some type of emblem facing in the direction of the nose of the car?
