UPDATE!!!HVI Custom made Heat Shield...

I decided to go with ABS plastic insted of aluminum since it's easier to cut...

Now I need some Air scoops!!!

You should go to BMW and order some of those rubber moldings in the front of the car...Looks like it will finish the look and make a tight seal...I am referring to the rubber molding near the kidney grills...It has an edge where the moldings would fit perfect!!! Just a suggestion

I had a K&N Kit a few years ago for a Durango that did that. Had a heat shield with a rubber seal against the hood. No clue how it well it worked but it looked good at least (And did make a damn nice sound).

Looks much better, but I think moldings like the BMW ones near the kidneys would be 10X better for sure...It will long like the ones that AEM sells or even a intake I saw on Ford Mustang Cobra...it had a thick piece of molding at the top and gave it a almost perfect seal!!! Try it...I think that one strip will from the top of the engine bay near the kidneys will cover your heat shield with a little left that you would need to cut off!!!
