Lol. I know. I'm trying to get a good mod list together so by the time the machine is ready, I'll have everything all set. I couldnt stop myself from buying it.

Just installed mine. Wow, what a head turner, between 2k and 4k rpms. Feels a bit more responsive, but car hasnt adapted like Isboost said.
Install was quite easy, those rubber grommets holding the three lines to the airbox are a pain. Other than that its simple. Mine is basically touching the alternator in the front, no matter what I tried I could not get it to sit without touching it. Will this cause any problems. I wish it was 40 degrees outside, but its 85. LOL

Congrats all on getting it and installed! Is the sound as sick as I told you guys?
My car really took about one day to adapt. I drove it for a bit, parked it over night, then took it back out again hard the next day. The short term fuel trims will take a little to adjust the fuel up to meet the greater air flow. Remember your car has thought about "X" air flow for a while and it takes some time for the STFT's and then much longer for the LTFT's to adjust. |

Just ordered mine thursday ALL b/c of this particular thread!
Thanks guys for the write up and excellent review! Quick question, do you guys plan on leaving it on when you go to the dealer for the yearly oil change/check-up? Because I have mine coming next week and was wondering if I should wait to install it or not..

installed mine yesterday and I must say I haven't listen to the radio! My friend in his 350z said he could hear the turbo's behind him going down the road and when I took off all he could hear was spool!

Boostedis, It does definately feel a bit quicker today. The car is much more responsive. I havent turned my radio on either in the last two days.

I dont know if I just been driving like a granny lately, but now Ive noticed I can break loose the rear tires (michelin ps2's), which before I never was able to.
This is the best $130 I spent in a while. And yeah props to terry, shipped out and got it in two days. Thankx.

Haven't been able to find an answer to this either. What could an intake possibly damage? About the only danger I ever knew is if you run a cold air intake you can possibly hydrolock your engine. My last car had a cold air intake and was in several shops in several states for lots of different problems and never once did they deny anything warranty related to the CAI.
What could you possibly do for BMW to place blame on your intake and deny/void your warranty? |
