Centre Parcs (Sherwood Forest)

Booked a lodge, has anyone been? Is it any good?

Its the first time for us. The activities look great for the kids, are there any recommendations for a three year old?

Cheers

Not been to SF, but my daughter has - she loved it. We've been to Longleat and enjoyed it. Best bit about SF is that its flat - Longleat is definitely not!!!

Watch the cost if you eat out a lot......the words "captive market" spring to mind....!!

Been to the Whinfell Forest one a couple of times (but they're all the same) but before my Daughter was born. For the kids, which I guess is one of the attractions for you, it's great - masses to do. If you're going at a busy time do a little planning ahead and get your names booked on a few things (some things you can't book until the day but get prepared). Not the cheapest but for a man with a million vacuums surely not a problem .

SF is great - a really nice setting and plenty to do.

Take plenty of money, or stock up at the supermarket!

I've been to SF, many years ago, great if weather's not so good, but everything other than the Bio Dome thingy, was chargable. Make sure you take your bikes.

Oh and, unless it's changed, take some Dettol spray, them places are never as clean as I'd like them to be.

Yea been a couple of times, infact I've been to every CP (makes me sound sad) -we do go aboard too! Usually go for a break at CP at the begining of the year, its cheaper and relaxing after Xmas and it gives us time to go else where later in the year.

We went Sherwood about three months ago actually, great for kids, howerver our child was 6 weeks when we went. We did driving range/archery/swimming/bowling/pool/drinking a lot of walking and relaxing really nothing too major. What type of lodge you in?

I've been to both Elveden and Longleat in the past but it was quite a few years ago now. I don't know if things have changed but when we went all the beauty treatments seemed to get booked up very early. I told my wife that she did not need them anyway

Not been to Sherwood Forest even though it's only just down the road but Whinfell in Cumbria was great. We went a couple of months ago just before Harry turned three and he loved it. To be honest I think he enjoyed riding on the back of dads bike more than anything else.

The missus booked it, think its one of the new style lodges in the central area. My 3yr boy is already booking and adding activities to our account, looks like I am going to be kept very busy!

Not been to SF but have been to Whinfell Forest a few times and we all love it. Loads to do for kids, mums & dads and grandparents!!

Last time, my 6 year old son, my 72 year old FIL and I did the Kevin Keegan soccer circus three times to try to beat our scores - great fun!!

We have been to the SF one about 10 times, we love it there, it is close enough to travel to and it is one of the better ones in our opinion.

When we went in March we took our three year old to 'Little outlaws archery' it is for 3-5 yrs and he LOVED it, all the kids were having a great time, in fact we have booked it again for when we go back in August. We also did 'Fun pots with tots' which is a where the kids get to paint their own plate (and other things). Both activities were reasonably priced (£8 for little outlaws and £12 for fun pots).

Have a great time.

P.S. If you have iDrive the center parcs is in there in the POI but it took me AGES to find it.

This will be our 3time, and like you we had the lodge its on the out part of the park, which worked out really well as its one of the only places you can park the car and get in and out quite quickly.

I don't think the supermarkets are that expensive for what they are, but as above go shopping at home first and take it with you

We are going back this Sept, out of the school holidays the best time I have found with no kids its not a problem.

Went last year to one in Reims - France as it was cheaper then booking in UK, great place and all the bits on site are useful, though hind site should have gone to the German one as getting things like a cot for a baby (that we booked) was a challenge.

Badly organised but thats typical of the area.

Enjoy the one you going to I've heard all good things
