First Exhaust Mods

Everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my stock exhaust. I am currently looking at either doing the OEM performance exhaust or getting the remus quads race system. I am newbie at this stuff. What would you recommends first?

If you are looking to change sound, I would recommend running a catless downpipe. This will give you both performance gains and change the exhaust note of the stock exhaust. I think you will be happy with this combo for a while.

I ran that setup for about a year then decided to pull the trigger on an exhaust system. My buddy has the BMW performance exhaust paired with the AR catless downpipe and it sounds VERY nice. Deep and throaty.

I wanted to be a little different and since I was already running a quad set up (cut stock tips off muffler and welded Cyba quads on) I decided to go with Remus Race.

I just installed it this past Saturday and I am very pleased with it. I have it paired with the BMS catless downpipe and it sounds very aggressive and refined in my opinion.

Best of luck with you choice!

Do the golf tee mod if you have not already. Then see if you want to spend the money on a different exhaust.

I spent the money elsewhere after I did it.

Badblk335i,

Do you have the remus along with the BMW performance exhaust?

I have the BMW PE.
I would recommend pairing that with a catless downpipe. I can guarantee you this is one of the most common N55 set ups. It sounds BEASTLY.
Youtube it.

I have the same setup. I love it! It's loud! It backfires! And it gargles when driving downhill!

My motorcycle is loud and backfires and pops, but I don't know if I would want that for my everyday driving car.

Yes it will, that's why you get a tune to go with it. I personally wouldn't do catless Downpipes if your not gonna get a tune. Tune + Catless DP = Biggest gains! You'll also want a Chargepipe cuz the stock one will crack or pop off. I personally have a Jb4 ISO but most people seem to be jumping on Cobb.

This is when I say to each his own. I personally don't have a 2nd car or bike for when I wana do some spirited driving and I personally like my setup. Sounds like your more into comfort for your everyday driving car so yea maybe its not for you.

I have the PE on my, nothing else, and it sounds great. I uploaded 2 sound clips on YouTube, just search "skhmund" and my 2 clips will be there. I would post, but lazy. My brother drives a 350Z and he says my car sounds like a truck now. Regardless, it was a good investment, car sounds great!

You can not run two exhaust systems at the same time. You would need to pick either the BMW performance exhaust OR the Remus race quad set up

TECHNICALLY...you could. You've got two midpipes leading to two mufflers lol. One midpipe could lead to a PE exhaust and the other a remus quad lol.

This is because I am a newbie when it comes to exhaust. I thought the remus system only upgrade the mufflers and the perfomarnce kit upgrades all the pipes behind the mufflers.

Thanks for the info.

Skh,

Sound great but how loud would it be in a e93 convertible? I'm afraid it might be too loud and won't hear the rock & roll!

Can you really hear the music with the top down. A little, but not enough to enjoy, at least not with my stock radio.
