e46 M3 maintenance costs?

I'm thinking about getting an e46 M3 coupe. It would probably be an 03/04, and with an SMG.

How much does it cost to maintain and service this car?

And, how much would I save by going to a private shop?

any important details about this car and perhaps info on what I should look for would be greatly appreciated.

The car is more to maintain since its an E46 M3...oil changes alone range from 150 to 300 depending where you get it. Inspection II is quite pricey, I've seen ranges from 600 to 2000 for them.

When you shop for a used E46 M3, make sure you get a very good PPI on them as certain parts (RTABS, RSMs) are prone to failure...
