e93 M3 sway bar on an e92?

i have a 335xi coupe and want to get an m3 rear sway bar but dont know which to get

E9x M3 Kit includes rear 20mm swaybar, bushings, and brackets. E93 M3 Convertible Kit includes 23.6mm rear swaybar, bushings, and brackets.

Stock:
335i Rear Sway Bar: D=13MM 33556764425
335xi Rear Sway Bar: D=15MM 33556764427

so if i get the m3 rear bar for the e92 it will be 5mm thicker than what i have now. if i get the m3 rear bar for the e93 it will be 8.6mm thicker then what i have now.

i'm assuming that once it gets to big i will start to have negative handling characteristics i just dont know how thick is to thick.

-thanks

just to let you know after doing a lot of research i went with the e92 bar. apparently even though the e93 bar is thicker it is to thick and actually starts to negatively impact handling. hope that helps

not sure if you have an XI or not but i do so i can only speak from experience from an XI driver. i reccomend when you get the sway bar you also get the M3 subframe bushings. you need to lower the rear subframe to install the sway bar so you will already be in there you might as well change the subframe bushings which require the rear subframe to be lowered as well. i got the rear subframe bushings, the sway bar and Bilstein sport shocks with H&R sport springs. the car handles amazing. it feels a lot more planted with the rear sway bar. you can take turns at higher speeds and have the car feel very planted to the ground.

Dinan has a suspension pkg for xi, the only one I know of. Has a good rep; changes rear only.

M rear sway def not a good idea w/o LSD. Have no idea if LSD would work on xi - anyone got?

Has anyone been on the track with their xi and that M3 sway bar?? I've tracked my car with just my TC Klines and Vorshlag camber plates on a staggered setup and I was impressed. I have the M3 rear bushings but haven't installed them yet.

Will bushings or sway bar make biggest difference?? I'm contemplating getting the sway bar but will it actually make that much of a difference?? Or are the bushings enough.....

PS I will be going to a square setup next season so that will improve my handling on track....

Definitely bushings over rear sway bar. That being said, this is your one good opportunity to install the rear sway BUT it should only be installed if you plan on getting an LSD

Neither - both need a LSD which you're unlikely to have.

Note E93 sway's beefier to handle add'l rear weight, drop top.

Again, Dinan has a package including sway for the rear reputed to work very well on the xi.
