On nitrous probably a little higher than that!

Wow guys I must have been smoking something really good or the methanol fumes must have gotten to me!I posted the same log that I posted two days ago when the cops blew up my spot!! lol

Here is my log of my full run today from 0-115 on a full bottle of nitrous at 1050 bottle pressure using .20 jet, 15.5 psi boost, 90/10 meth/water (M10+M7), ambient temps 37...A/F on nitrous hovering 12s to 11s, and no such lean spikes at the point nitrous hits like some have experienced. Timing from 4 degrees ramping up to 10 degrees and no timing drops throughout the run. IATs are a frosty 30 degrees at the end of the run.. The Aquamist flow sensor is performing flawlessly time and time again..With just meth flow it showed 21 and with nitrous power meth nozzle a steady 28

Looking good ! It's easy to understand you enjoy the car a lot, what a beast it must be. Any acceleration and virtual dyno figures so far?

Thanks for your help with the Aquamist flow sensor and the resistors part of the wiring! I learned something new! I do enjoy the car alot especially since the nitrous is functional and working perfectly, after it was installed on the car for two years and just staring at it, and now that I have a 100% functioning flow sensor that works all the time and not periodically which was very annoying to say the least. Car is so fun to drive and the adrenaline you get when nitrous is activated is more like an admission to a theme park ride So far ALL (10) my logs on nitrous are showing that with a small jet of .20 the car is reacting quite well to it and the producing safe power!

Are you going to install your nitrous kit this spring or you are totally scraping the idea of nitrous on this car?

Great fun for you I haven't decided yet about next year but I would be surprised if I can resist testing it.

Since everyone is on a meth kick and some interest on nitrous, I think everyone should get one of these for their PPS meth kits if they have one installed on their cars... You pour meth into a tank and it gets injected into your engine and without adequate filters just in case the meth is contaminated with junk/debris and such, its not great for your engine to injest unfiltered meth/water. You never know what can be in the mixture. I buy bottles of HEET and when I open the bottle there is plastic and a aluminum air sealed cover on the bottle which you need a screw driver to break the seal and open the bottle. The seal NEVER comes off clean!. Each time I pour one of those bottles in, I am always thinking something got into the tank! DO and SNow Performance has a little mesh filter on the nozzle which is pretty cheap, and CM doesnt even offer one! lol Well I was not comfortable with this and wanted to find a solution...I found AEM had one but its not 100% meth compatible, and others were too much of a headache to get the fittings right. Emailed Jeff at Howerton Engineering and he said he had one that fits with their flow sensor...You basically screw it into the flow sensor inlet and on the other side reuse that 6mm compression fitting that you took of flow sensor and install it back to inlet of filter, hook meth line back to that fitting and your done. This inline filter can also be installed a meth solenoid too...Basically screw in the outlet side of the filter into the solenoid (you have to take out the inlet side push fitting from solenoid) inlet and buy a 6mm compression to the inlet of filter fitting and hook back your meth line to it! Ordering one right now!

I finally got a chance to install the filter and its a really nice piece..Its about 3 inches long, very compact just like the flow sensor. The filter has a rather large filter screen compared to the ones in the nozzles and its 130 microns which is really good for filtration from what I have read..I have it installed before my flow sensor and well before my solenoids which will prevent debris from ever getting to those components, causing failure or solenoid being stuck open..So far this is the best solution for a meth filter besides the cheap ones found on the actual nozzle.. Again I have to say this repeatedly...Aquamist makes some really nice stuff! Best FLOW SENSOR in the market...

While installing the Aquamist filter two days ago, I accidentally striped the compression fitting for my purge kit by turning the opposite way to loosen the nut so I had to find a replacement..I finally had the time to fix it today..After I changed out the compression fitting, I tested the purge and it didnt work. I was like WTF!! Took me another hour to diagnoise what the problem was. It was my nitrous purge button. I have no idea how that went bad, but when I took the button out the thing just fell apart!! .Between the striped compression fitting and the nitrous purge button, it took me a total of 3 hours between getting the parts and changing them out on such a beautiful day! A stop at Autozone and Radio shack did the trick.. Just ranting because installing the filter was so easy but it turned out to be a nightmare! All is good now!

Wow, James Bond like controls!
Mine was much simpler lol: I reached behind my seat to open the bottle. I had an alligator clip on the battery terminal to "arm" the system. A button at the end of a coiled cord that I just grabbed from the floor to fire the nitrous solenoid after it went through the FSB. If I needed to heat my bottle, I just ran it on the passenger floorboard and blew the heater on it, LOL. Pretty primitive, but I only spent $100 on it, and it can be removed very quickly.

With a small jet such as a 028, my AFRs are stable with nitrous. However, when running a 046 jet, its much more harder to maintain AFR stability.

Just bringing up an old thread of mine. I see Vishnutuning is offering a flash on the dme to enrich the a/f so I am thinking about sending my DME to them. I know this flash is supposedly done for E85 usage, but it will offer more fuel for my nitrous usage. Although there is not too many times I will use nitrous, does anyone see any issues of running so rich? I don't plan on running any E85 anytime soon.

I don't know shit from shinola when it comes to your question... But I have made the leap to Vishnu's E85 conversion.. and am currently running their meth system as well. I have an acquaintance with a nitrous kit that I have tentatively agreed to buy. I will be speaking with robert from this afternoon about shipping my DME.. I'll be sure to get his opinion on your question as it is relative to the direction I am wanting to go. I'll pop back here with what I am told, sometime tonight.

Now, back to the beginning of this thread to read everything and take notes..

Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us..
