Muffler Delete or Remus?
Ive been wanting to do something to my e92 328s exhaust for awhile now Im torn between the two.
I like how muffler deletes sound but are way too common plus my cousin has a remus exhaust at his house that he doesn't use anymore so is offering to just give it to me. The thing is I searched threw forums/youtube all I found were remus exhausts that sound a little louder then stock. So basically what I'm asking is which way would you go if you were just out for sound not performance Muffler delete or a Remus? I was wondering what can i do to make the remus more throaty and deep? Resonator delete ? secondary Cat delete? and do you have any videos to go along with that

definitely go with the Remus over the muffler delete. or go with another kind of aftermarket muffler. never do a muffler delete. you have a BMW, not a honda.

its funny you say that about muffler delete it seems to be very popular on this forum...
but yea i prefer aftermarket ones more...but if anything im going to use the Remus if i decide to go aftermarket but just the remus itself is to quiet for my taste I want to make a little more throaty and deeper.

Thats what I'm thinking too.
Whats the difference between resonator delete and secondary cat delete as far as sound goes?

In my opinion any muffler setup is better than a Muffler Delete, unless the price is too much of an inhibiting factor.
Get the muffler and do a secondary cat/resonator delete, and it will have plenty of volume while retaining a good amount of backpressure and without getting too droney

The only exhausts I have heard that sound even remotely good besides the delete have been the BMW PE and Gavin's Muffler (MMW). I have never once had someone tell me my car sounds rice, like shit, or annoying. Its quiet and comfortable on the highway and it barks a throaty tone when you step on it. Best $160 I have ever spent on a car to date. I have only owned one 4 cylinder out of all the cars I've ever owned and that was an Audi A4 for all of about 6 months before I stepped into a 2005 330Ci 6 Spd and before it I had a '99 Trans Am.
So, to those of you that like to bash on those of us that have the MD, get off your high horse and drop the holier than thou attitude. I would have replaced the muffler by now with one of MMW's if I found that the MD was a terrible mistake. Having said that I do have plans for headers and don't plan to keep running this setup at the back because I do value my hearing and not pissing off the police in my area.

+1 it's hard for our engines to sound rice. I think the main reason people hate the MD is the loudness/drone which I can see but in no way do I think it sounds ricey. I mean if you can handle the drone it is good budget sound and chances are you will get used to it after awhile or find ways to make it less droney. For the money spent though you can't go wrong .

I've been running a Remus Sports Label (not the adjustable Power Sound) muffler on my 328 for the past 3 years. It's very tame compared to an MD or more aggressive exhausts that delete the resonator and/or the secondary cats but it does give the car an exhaust note where it didn't have any before. I still get the cool burble when letting up off the gas if I have the windows down. I recommend the Remus, especially since your cousin is giving you one. Install it and see if you like it, and if it isn't aggressive enough, then have your resonator and/or your secondary cats removed. That should give you a much more aggressive but still refined sound. Best to start off mild and work your way up to a sound you're comfortable with.

I have a magnaflow with res delete. I like the way it sounds. It's not too loud and not too quiet. Total price for the muffler and installation was $200. I want to get better tips. The ones I purchased at the muffler shop suck and blow. What ever setup you go with defiantly get rid of the resonator. It added about 20% more sound for me.

guys I replaced the midpipes on my 335i and installed borla instead, by doing that, it got rid of the resonators, then replaced the whole exhaust and installed an Afe exhaust that i bought from someone on craigslist.. it was brand new but I really don't know what to do since it sounds too loud inside the car and it is kind of annoying, when the car is sitting at iddle sounds great tho.. so idk if i would delete the resonator I would just recomend to install the Remus first and see how it goes....

I’m replacing my midpipes with Supersprint catless midpipes and resonator. Supersprint has very nice quad muffler but didn’t have it when I bought Remus. So I will use tis setup with Remus.
Free flow resonator
