I went on the BMWUSA page and looked and cannot believe that you would get the M-sport package + PPK1 for that price. WHy would you even look at the F30 Sport?

Please point me to the source of your info.

Now, to the pricing part...
Audi A4 rivals the 328i. I could have sworn that the BMW is priced higher to start with...
Audi S4 rivals the 335i. Again, The base price S4 = 335i + ZSP + most of ZPP...and again, Audi is "just NOT more expensive"...or in line with the BMW.

I suggest you stay away from embarrassing yourself further
i was on your side from the start, man

I just ordered a new S5... won't be delivered until Sept '13 after my deployment... But other than comparable 'stock' performance, the only reason I didn't get another 335is or to compliment the X5 was the measurements. I wanted a coupe, not a sedan and in the 335 coupe, my head was touching the roof, with the S5 I have plenty of headroom.

As for the comment on not a lot of mods available for the S5, APR has a great tune and S/C pulley Stage II tune, intakes are available for the V6 S/C and APR is releasing a Stg III pkg pretty soon (replacing the S/C)... Giac also has a tune available, so the possibilities are there for this platform as well...

I'm not abandoning BMW, as I will still have the X5 (even if my wife is driving it), but never hurts to sample the other side of the line/

Since the S4 is basically the same as the S5, take a look at this Motortrend comparo. Not only does woman prefer the S5, but most of the professional reviewers do as well.

I believe your comparo is the F30 335i with some crappy tires vs. the 335is e92 that we're debating here. A HUGE difference there...

DCT's are still closer to an AT than a MT, the car does most of the work.

I've said it before but unless you're tracking a car then I see little point in DCT.

In S5 vs 335i, she misquoted. She said the S5 is 450bhp and the 335i is 50hp short. S5 is 420bhp and 335i is 120hp down but STILL is almost as fast. Anyway, she was wrong with her numbers

I am pretty sure the S5 has 333hp. It is the RS5 that has 450hp.

I agree but she says at :33 sec is what's more interest to me is the 4.2l v8 producing 350bhp.....sorry I heard that wrong BUT she is not entirely correct either

2011 335is
On the street on your way to work, what is the difference? On the track its faster but WAAY less engaging and takes less ability to go fast. I realize times are changing but I just went back to MT after 3 years of Steptronic. I realize its not dtc but there is nothing like a few high rpm rev matched downshifts.
S5 ftw. V6 is way better than V8 ...otrher than sound...imo.

F30 335i Sedan is NOT faster than the e92 335IS, where do you get your info???

Does the F30 M-Sport really get a HP boost over the standard F30 335 Sport??? I would be surprised if true...
+1 this is why the M440i will be a 335is replacement and direct competitor to the S5.

Ask how many DCT N54 owners how difficult it is to get a decent 60' when trying to launch this car

Ask how many DCT owners what needs to be done to avoid clutch slippage

Ask how many DCT owners how to engage performance mode at WOT while being able to predict The DME

Do you think I got the ET in my sig based on me just flooring the throttle ?

The same rules in MT of knowing when to shift in RPM vs MPH applies the same to those who use the Manual mode in the DCT

The old one was a V8... so not much tuning capability (unless you poor a ton of money into the car, in which case, you would be better off with a faster stock car...)
The new one is a single turbo V6 (if I'm not mistaken), so again, some more tuning capability, but not as much as the 335i/335is.

The 335i, and especially the DCT with the true N54 twin turbo, $500 gets you +100hp and +100tq...

Agreed! Obviously there are only 2 peddles, but controlling throttle and when to shift/RPM control is an 'art' in a manual automatic as well.

new s5 is supercharged v6 they just use that 3.0t badge like amg does with the 63.
its still tuneable but cost is a lil more n less bang for the buck.
tune, intake, pulley and exhaust and they still dont touch 400 whp.
