Transmission fluid leaking

Recently discovered some oil stain on my parking spot and it turns out my auto gear box is leaking. Any brothers have this happened on your E90 before? I searched thru some posts in the technical forum and found quite a few members in the US have this problem due to the failing rubber seal/transmission pan gasket. There's a recall in the US and I called BMWHK but of course they denied about this.

Can you guys recommend a good garage to fix this? Don't want to pay 3x the price to fix this@ BMWHK. BMW also says our transmission fluid is for lifetime which I don't quite believe, have u guys ever change ur gear box oil?

Not too sure about the different in warranty terms between HK and US... if BMWNA issue a TSB fix on the leaking transmission oil, you can try to print that TSB and bring it to the BMWHK to see what happen.

And if BMWHK refuse to do it and your car is still under warranty, I suggest you contact BMW HQ in Germany to seek advice from them.

BMW claim their transmission fluid is for lifetime, but common sense tell me everything can be wear down.... so make your own judgement on that. As for which oil to use....I say BMW OEM (aka ZF transmission fluid). Good luck.

Checked my record, it was a job of replacing with ZF gearbox oil, the plug and the oil filter.

the common issue of sealing sleave leakage to the back side of the automatic transmission pan and people often mistaken that leakage from the gasket.
