Spark Plugs

I get a lot of emails regarding spark plugs, etc. so I just wanted to let everybody know I ordered a WACK of them so they are finally available in a large quantity.

Please remember that spark plugs should be changed every 15-20K if your car is tuned and its one of the first things that should be changed when diagnosing certain problems like misfires, hesitation, etc.

No only carry the N54 motor plugs unfortunately as those are the cars that only should use the stock BMW Bosch plugs and those plugs are crazy price at the dealer. I think one customer told me the dealer wanted 200.00 for just the six plugs.

but 200 is over priced. think about it. lets say they get plugs for 60, and their hourly rate is 90-120/hr. now ask yourself this how long does it take to change sparkplugs? and would you pay 200? if anyone is ignorant its you, just saying.

Where you get n54 plug for 60? How about the tools? How about the person working in car? I personally do not know how to change plugs.

Dealer cost 300+ so I believe 200 is fair.

I wish I saw this thread sooner. I had a check engine error early this summer and I read on here that the spark plugs was the problem. Brought it to a local garage that specializes in BMW repairs (not a dealership). The mechanic ended up charging me $900 for replacing the coil pack + spark plugs. My jaw dropped...

Maybe I should order some spark plugs for future use lol...PM me price please

AHHH I changed my plugs and coils two weeks ago I would have done a DIY if I knew you guys were interested in knowing how.

Once you know how to do this, you will think a shop charging $200 is a lot of money. Trust me when I say its that easy.

If the only thing they did was coils and plugs then you got raped my friend. That's almost criminal.

This is no more than a 45 minute job and I am not exaggerating.

If you have the very basics in mechanical abilities, and the very minimum in tool selection, you can do this no problem.

Buy the parts and I'll do plugs and coils for you for $50.
