Some say he does the 1/4 mile in 13.1 seconds and is known locally as the 1/4 mile diesel hero....
All we know is.... He's called Carlos Fandango |

Well I made two visits last year. Considering i atually enjoy it I want to go as many times as i can this year. Some days are slow (Uk7) other days are fast! LOL, and I wont catch you now unless I get an M6. But I dont know of any other 335i which has run quicker than 13.1 yet (Closest is Kin's 400bhp one with a 13.3). Which is pretty cool. Yours though is another level now. Also cheers Mike, steve A, Paulie and Zaine. Quote:
LOL, Id love to bash out a time for ya. Give me a few runs to settle into the different car but ill give it ago Quote:

Well done mate, even though it's only a 1/10th or 2/10ths to your previious PB it makes you feel like your on cloud 9 when you get your ticket... LOL. I know I did when I got my 13.1..
That 1.9 60ft would of certainly helped.. Nice work. |

Carl, just seen your thread on EvoT. Your 60` time of 1.9s is 0.2ish s quicker than your best time before but overall time is only 0.2s quicker ? did you miss a shift or something ?? What was the 1/8 time and speed mate ? With that 60` you should`ve scraped into the 12`s.

So how does one launch a 335D then Carl?
I am curious after toying with MS mode, standard drive, with/out TCS etc and all seemed quite wank really... Couldnt get any kind of launch and all variants seemed to be somehow held back by the car realising it would light up the wheels or something - thats how it felt.... I am NOT yet remapped if that makes a difference. Also, there doesnt seem to be any way to rev in Neutral then drop into drive etc which is something that worked for me in previous cars - perhaps this can be overridden and i dont know how? Cheers Matt |

Sorry, but don't get this Pod thing...it's a straight line?! Where's the skill. or the passion for driving? So the car is fast in a straight line. Great. How does that fill your balls?

Ias a tenth quicker at the 8th mile and 2 tenths at the quarter. Quote:
Its on drag tyres with a racing driver behind the wheel and with approx 380bhp! Stock M3's (E46) In UK rarely dip below 13.7, but I have seen a stock ones do 13.5 with good driver. Quote:
You aint even been on any track in your car have you, Hilarious comment You should have been at the Pod when we all went. Quite a bit of skill involved maximising a cars potential off the line. Great adrenaline rush too. And i love track too, still love the drag strip. Stop slating, start racing

Oi
Soz Matt, the amount of times ive posted inthis forum how i launch my car is unreal. Its in lots of posts. Rev to 3.5k in nuetral then slam into drive... JOKE you will break it doing that, Yanks call it ''brake boosting'' Left foot holding the brake, just over quarter throttle till she is loaded and ready to go, then BANG. As easy as it sounds, its still quite hard to get the perferct launch on one. Takes practise i think.

So put it in D or D/S and then hold the brake with my left foot, and apply some throttle before I remove my left foot?
Is this a process that has to be done quickly? Or for example, could you hold it whilst the lights were on red with the throttle down, and then remove your foot as they turn green? Presumeably with all TCS/DSC off as well? Sorry mate, I did search but as there doesnt seem to be a thread titled after launching etc it didnt yield a direct result. Matt |
