So the joke keeps growing guys. Here is my back story:

Quote:
So on May 23rd, I had this exchange with the Service Manager about my appointment being scheduled for June 18th:

I will book an appointment with you guys but could you please first ensure that you have the necessary parts on hand. This avoids my car sitting there for longer time than is needed.

Thank you.

His reply: "The parts are in stock."

Let's fast forward to today and here's the email I just received:

Good afternoon,

We have just received notice from BMW that the parts needed for the recall on your vehicle is on backorder in Germany. Therefore we would not be able to perform the recall for you on Monday. Would you please kindly contact us via email or phone to reschedule your appointment for Monday. The part is on back order until after July 1st, 2012.

Thank you for your time, and sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Cheers

Unreal guys. I knew this shit would happen.

At that time I told the service rep I was free on July 2nd and July 3rd. His reply:

Quote:
Good afternoon,

I have now rescheduled you in for July 2nd, 2012 at 8:00am with a loaner.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Cheers
So I went in this morning and the dealership is closed! July 1st is "Canada Day" and they are not open again until July 3rd.

What a fucking joke. Who hires these people?

Here's my Repair Order Detail. Turned out to be 2 recalls.

My highly unscientific seat-of-the-pants test says that there hasn't been any loss of power related to this recall. Then again, I have just been sitting behind the wheel of a minivan for the two days that the car was at the dealership.

Okay so I dropped the car off today for an oil change and the dealer said my car is due for the EGR replacement/reprogram -- no notice received. Said all parts are in should have it back later today -- We'll see...

If I recall, when I ordered it, it was an Oct/Nov '10 build.

Dropped my car off at 1030am and picked it up at 330 same day. New egr installed, seals, oil/filter changed, new cabin filter and def filled. My car actually felt a little quicker/better throttle response after the service or it could be my mind playing tricks on me comong from a 328 loaner. Back in goes the jbd!

My story keeps getting better guys. Had an 8am appointment this morning to bring my car in for the recall. I noticed the traffic lights were all out by the dealership. When I pull in, the service advisor tells me the power is all out and took my number to call me when it's up and running again. She just called me to tell me it won't be coming on at all today.

I'm now trying for Monday at 3pm after work, pending that they have a loaner for me.

Nope. My main dealer totally ignored my emails when I first enquired about the recall. That was truly pathetic so I said eff them. This current dealer is equally as close to where I live.

That was a fast turn around for your recall man! Wow.

Doing fine man. I provided them the lube today and they gave me an X1 as a loaner after I dropped off my D for the recall.

What a piece of garbage that is.

It does nothing for me man. There is nothing appealing about the X1 to me and I would personally never buy it. This one is brand new with only 30 kilometres on it when I picked it up an hour ago.

went through the post, saw some people took 1 day for the recall work to be done while others took over a week. What is the average time to have this recall done?

I'd say a day, assuming the dealership has the parts when you go in.

Mine took 5hrs and that included doing a few other things. Make sure the dealer has ALL of the parts before you drop your car off.
