Turboback with bolt-on/bolt-off cats that can be replaced by a test pipe when the cats are off. Other then that I'll let you guys take care of it.

I've got to bring up my Brabus exhaust I had on my CL 500...it was just as the poster above described...quiet...until the pedal was mashed and then everybody around knew I was on it.

Shiv: I agree with OC kid Not to loud at low rpm, crusing speeds but when the pedal is mashed to the ground let it scream! Loud exhaust are for the teens and early 20's.

Yeah, Im pretty over the constantly loud exhaust thing. When I want loud and obnoxious and "hey look at me" I take out my M3 or my Ducati. For my DD I want inconspicuous and not neighbor waking.

This is exciting. I wont have my car for 6 months but I want to make a wish also.

It seems folks are always going to have different tastes so I would really like to see two options.

1. For the folks who are interested in a more subtle sound. You cant have max flow without a lot of volume so perhaps a model with more resonators or smaller piping for these folks.

2. As we know, turbos do fine with very very large piping. For the one i'd order or have made, i'd want you to go wild with it assuming also that people buying this model may be modding to an even higher degree in the future. Straight through mufflers to increase flow. A nice euro tone using a perforated core or whatever you feel comfortable with. Not sure if x-piping will yield gains but if you see them from it, I would want it.

For both of the above I would want a the highest quality stainless (not going to shell out 4 grand for a titanium exhaust and not many people will). I would also like both to include v-band clamps so folks could swap sections for race v. street version quickly and easily. We could also order both sections from you so we can use one for track and one for family.

Obviously ditching the cats not monitored and/or replacing units with a high quality precious metal HFC such as an HJS or similar unit would be my preferance for street driving (no MIL) with the option to vband in a testpipe for racing.

Yes, V-band clamps always make things 100 times easier to take on and off. Especially if you plan on coming out with a downpipe, it would be nice for the new connection to the exhaust to consist of all V-band clamps.

Like I said turbo-back. And I like hearing it at Idle, as long as its not droning and obnoxious its cool. Or at least quiet at idle and start to hear it with the slightest of throttle. I dunno, I don't like crazy loud, but I like to be heard when I wanna be heard, and I like the exhaust note to be deep and throaty.

Again. Turbo Back is a must. With optional cats and stuff.

just flying through some of the posts, and overall, theyre so many different types of people with common goals.

things that dont need to be stated

**lightweight design**(we dont need to state this, no one in their right mind will slap on a exhaust that weighs 10lbs more than stock) its sort of a slap in the face for a tuner lol
**pricing** (if they want to sell, they'll find a happy medium, if its too high, no one will buy, too low and they lose money)

Peformance/Sound/Looks are the main points. find a formula that worked for other companies and build off that. perfection is not possible for bmw owners, theres always that next level, that other tuner, that other guy who has more money etc.

its nice that Vishnu asked for suggestions, but its pretty clear what people want, deliver a product that you would be proud to sport on your own 335i and i think you're set! sound is really subjectiive and all ears. everyone appreciates better performance and looks are to" the eyes of the beholder"

as for the tip/materials issue, place a poll and the figures will speak for themselves

I'll put my vote down for Magnaflows ... on my last car I experimented with different set-ups (Vibrant, Dynomax, & Magnaflow) and for me the Mags sounded the best ... had more of a burble, which I personally prefer.

I have heard a turbo-back exhaust for this car and it sounded like crap it was the umm I think ultimate racing exhaust maybe but anyways I know the Milltek sounds good also wait for an Eisenman(i think this is how to spell it)

It's one of the things I haven't had the time to test thoroughly yet in the 335i since our own car doesn't need it. But its certainly something useful for those guys who choose to go catless down the road (boo hisss!).

I'm not too sure whether I'm too late to add my two cents, but I think the exhaust pipes should be as straight as possible from the downpipe to the tip, with minimal bends.

As little back pressure as possible would be ideal for better spooling of the turbos.

Exhuast note: low rpms should be bassy and high rpms should be a roar

Lightweight assembly at a 'reasonable' price.

There is no turbo-back exhaust available yet. I doubt you have heard how one sounds. The sound depends mainly on the mufflers - not that much if its turbo- or cat-back.

2 - Tig welded
3 - Try to make a turbo back system
4 - Choice of tips (I think Miltech did this)
5 - And oh yeh... Keep the price as low as possible
6 - Make systems for both the 335i coupe and sedan available at the same time
