...what the hell happened to this thread?

Greyfox is calling me fucking stupid for following the flow of traffic. Well, that's all well and good Mr Butthurt, but you're wrong. https://www.esurance.com/safety/driving-too-slowly http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leon/409as...no-report1.htm

Also, Eat.Sleep.Race, Dickson Young is gonna do mine. He knows his shit. Are you a fellow litigator?

Lastly, Greyfox, you wanna talk about laws, and stupid ones?

46.2-1052(2) says no stickers of any size on any windows. BUT, i have to affix my state inspection sticker to my window. yes i'm sure there's a carve out for that, but this little law goes to show the Va Legislature is not all that concerned about how their citizens view the rule of law as promulgated by the Legislature. they just want to fuck with people who have stickers on their windows.

46.2-1052(3) says its illegal to drive when my view out the rear window is obstructed. Pray tell is my view obstructed by the headrests of my rear seat? arguably it is, because, ejusdem generis, (2) doesn't allow any stickers of any size (except stickers of the state (assumedly)), so why would (3) allow three large obstructions across the back of my car? I'm not sure here.

What I am sure of is that Virginia has some laws as asinine as your understanding and interpretation of those laws. Appealing to the engineers' design of suspension geometry as a means of showing up the justness of legislative fiat. gtfo

46.2-1052 does not say what you say it says, if you catch that.

"This provision, however, shall not apply to any certificate or other paper required by law or permitted by the Superintendent to be placed on a motor vehicle's windshield or window." - aka all of the state inspection stickers and county property tax stickers are legal.

Then it goes on to say that if you have rear side view mirrors, the following is legal:
1) Put a mirror on the back of the car that allows you to see below the line of sight out of the rear window
2) Put stickers of any size on the rear side windows or rear window
3) Drive a motor vehicle when the view through the rear window is obstructed.

Those 3 things are all legal if you have rear side view mirrors on both sides of the car.

Here's a link to the code: https://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/leg...+cod+46.2-1052 for anyone that wants to read for themselves.

The other one is a 2009 Carmine Red 328i with M Sports suspension.

But the wagon is far superior on my long haul commute. It also doesn't get tail happy in damp conditions.

So... suck a tea bag or several if you are so inclined.

Nice to hear your going with him, he also drove a 650 at the time he represented me for a much more series condition with amazing results.

I am not an attorney, but am good friends with many of them, Dickson will take care of you and thats a fact! LMK the outcome. If you want a speedo reading that shows your car is off by 7MPH i can also hook you up with that for further help. The cost of that is $100 by a reputable shop that takes care of me.

Judges don't have to honor that and they don't always honor it. For saftey reasons, I suggest looking into reasons your speed reading could have been off, technical reasons. There are some good wiki posts.

Don't worry, present yourself as a useful member of society, short, polite and sweet and you will more than likely get it knocked down to speeding.

The asshole cop could have given you just a speeding ticket, it would've been the sensible thing to do but the police departments here are fitted with sticks that go up their ass and through their mouths into the asses of their coworkers to ensure dickly robotic sheep.

Having experienced this BS, depending on your age, record and cost justifications I wouldn't bother with the false speedo readings. You seem like a good guy and the judge will likely see that.

*Edit* tman sorry I though you were OP! Still applies to both of you I guess.

07chupacabra; sorry man I thought I had mentioned it earlier but it might have been in another post. The cop did not charge me with reckless but rather speeding. I have two prior tickets; one 18 over, one 20 over and the latest is 25 over and all three in 25mph speed trap zones.

Seriously I'd be happy with a lawyer that can cut a deal with the prosecuting attorney for a reduced speeding charge as I don't know how I could get out if it given my record.

Tell me about. It's one thing getting nabbed with a smile on your face doing 85 on a 65mph highway but another doing 45 in a 25 on the way to work in the morning. LOL.
