Sudden Loud Continuous Speaker Buzz
So I came out to my car this morning after staying at a friends house overnight and I unlocked and opened the front door to my car and heard this tremendously loud buzzing/hum noise coming from inside my car. It kind of sounds like the fire alarm buzzer I remember from grade school.
I turned the radio on and off and it didn't help. I turned to different input source, SAT to AUX to FM, and that didn't help and the audio quality was very poor. I had to drive the car so I did for about 15 minutes and got to my destination. I turned the car off, and removed the key, then plugged the key back in and started it up and no more buzz. I have never experienced anything like this before. Ideas? Gut tells me it could be the amp shorting or something of that nature. What do you guys think and do you think it'd be covered under CPO? Thanks!

Best part is I happened to have stayed at my buddy's house since he lives 15 minutes from the best Indy shop around where I was taking the car this morning to have some fluid flushes done.
I asked them to just quickly have a look while it's there and see if theres anything they can figure out or anything else they can find that I might want to have checked out under CPO.

Same thing happened a few times to me. I mentioned it to the Tech. They were aware of the issue and ended up replacing my amp and head unit.

Check your trunk for water. Especially under the cover on the rear driver side. I had a tail light seal leak it reeked havoc on my logic 7 amp.

Do a search on this anomaly and it is somewhat common. I've had this issue pop up three times during my 1 1/2 year ownership. The high pitched buzzing sound would last 10-15 minutes. Definitely amp related. Haven't happened in a while though so I'm not gonna bother fighting with the dealership over this strange issue. So much for German luxury quality...

Had this happen to me once spontaneously. Same situation. Unlocked my car and speakers started buzzing. Went away after a few minutes. Never happened again since. Fingers crossed

I have hifi, not logic 7.
I checked my trunk near the amp. Bone dry. No evidence of any liquid in the compartment near it at all. No dried liquid trails, rust/corrosion, discoloration, etc. I'm really good at looking for that kind of thing too...it's part of what I do for a living.

Took amp out and let it dry. The tail lamp has a gasket between it and the body. Replace it. Both sides if you want to play it safe.
