Bavarian Technic Cable too much?

Hey guys
Just purchased 335i couple months ago and love it very much. The only problem I have that closest BMW dealer is 250ml away(I am in the middle of South Dakota), so its time to put together “Do it yourself kit”. I was looking at Bavarian Technic Cable. Is it a good investment or an overkill? What BT can do that any $100 eBay tools can’t? My car has 59000 ml and no warranty. The only mod I have is a BMS DCI. Thanks for any info.

I don't know what the "$100 ebay tools" are so I can't make a comparison. However, the BT cable provides access to all the control modules in the car, allows for coding, and testing. If you are that far from a dealer, and it sounds like you turn your own wrenches, I think it would be a good investment, along with the Bentley repair manual; which I've bitched about, but it is the best techncial data available outside of BMW's TIS website.

If you're that far away get it and spend the extra $100 compared to the "ebay ones". Like the above post you can access all the control modules which the $100 ebay ones will just pull a code and reset your CEL

Thanks. I guess BT and manual would be a big help. Will get them soon.
