Post What are the best performance summer tires u would get for this summer?

Hey just picked up a set of 19" forged rims for my 335i sedan..front 19x8.5 & back 19x10...I am going to put winter tires on my stock rims..What in your opinion is the best summer tires that would last and not wear out with aggressive driving..I was thinking about general exclaim uhp or hancook ventus v12 evo..I also want the tires to be strong so they protect my rims if I do hit a pothole...My back setup is 19x10 so they are pretty wide already...I have a sedan so I should be fine but might consider lowering a little in the summer..So what would u pick? Lets get the word out for all the members gearing up early for the summer

Neither tire you mentioned fits your 'performance summer tire' category. The Generals suck big time and have an all season tread pattern. There isn't a worse tire for a 335.

Your request is somewhat of an oxymoron. Performance summer rubber tends to wear quicker due to compounds.

Ok so I called up tirerack and told them that i have an 2010 335i sedan without sport or M pckg and I just ordered 19 inch rims which are 8.5 in the front and 10 in the back..He sadi I need

275-30-19 for the rear
235-35-19 in the front

He also quoted prices of low 700's for a set of hancook evos shipped to NY and low 600's for general exclaim uhps...These prices seem a bit high but he said that I was gettin 19's so they were more pricy. I then asked him to find me any other summer tires that would be cheaper..he searched and said he couldnt find anything lower that the general exclaims which is over 600 bananas

How does this sound to u guys? Also, do u think the tire sizes are good for a 335i sedan w rims..let me know your thoughts and suggestion..thx

also to BMdblU, what tires do u think I should go with then? I have a pair of snow tires for winter so u think i should get all season for the summer since summer tires wear out quicker? let me know

Since you have dedicated winter tires, I think you should go with something more performance then an all season. If you are worried about tire wear and cost, a high performance tire isn't for you. Many people have praised the vredesteins for the cost. I run F1 Asymmetrics for summer and love them.

He couldn't find anything less then the general's because they're isn't anything.. they suck and only people who don't know any better run them on a 300HP BMW.

Noise is about the same but there is a little more harshness (really that's too strong a word) since the sidewalls are taller. I also went from 18't to 19's so take it with a grain of salt. I'm comparing to regular PS2's.
