...it would take more time to get a BB and get under the car to put it in than to just pop off a cover and pull a plug.

The NO CONSEQUENCES is what im considering... whether or not there is

the throwing an error to the ECU issue, and less BHP issue, less MPG issue

these are possible consequences

Put the BB in the other end - no crawling under the car and not codes...

JUST FYI. Doing this throws codes! Not ones you can see but the dealer can see them!!!!

BE WARNED

Like it matters if it throws codes. It'll only refer to a bad solenoid. Just plug it back in before a dealer visit and shrug your shoulders. Stop being concerned about "big brother", it's your car. Not much warranty to void at the tailpipe!

I unplugged mine from inside the car. I did like the start-up exhaust note but hated the way it sounded at highway speeds, plus felt a lot of droning, so I plugged it back in....

Who cares if it throws a code, after the exhaust leaves the downpipes and cats....it doesnt matter. It still travels out of factory exhaust pipes that BMW installed. The valve opens up anyway on its own once the car is warm and moving so again who cares? Were just opening it all the time, no harm.

Just unplugged mine. At start up there was not a noticeable difference...but once the engine warmed and idle dropped down...boom! I could hear the difference.

I took it out on the highway too. There was no power decrease through any of the shifts and my acceleration remains sick. The sound is amazing. Much more powerful and more Ferrari - ish.

Thanks for the tip.

Has anyone done this on an E93 ? The trunk is very different behind the taillights from the E92, I opened the taillight trunk panel and the valve is not there. Does anyone know where it is located on the E93?

I just came back from an oil change at the dealer, and they didn't say anything about the plug being un-plugged, not to mention they didn't plug it back in either.... sweet....

as soon as I left I popped the trunk to see if they just plugged it in without saying anything and sure enough it was still out.....
