Hi Corey, You are right about the M or SA rating on the helmets (DOT ratings are not valid). That is true for both DE's and Autocross. Your quote is what I wrote that for the autocross events though. Josh was talking about the ADSS (Advanced Driver Safety Skills). I may be wrong, but I don't believe they have loaner helmets for any track events, at least none that I've ever been to.
Also, Josh, you should probably email Joe Marko to find out the rules for the novice discount. He runs the DE program. I'd hate to give you my interpretation, and be wrong. |

Hi Guys,
I live on the North Shore but I'd be down for a meet.. I'm getting my V715's from JLevis sometime next week, so sometime after that would be sweet. Saturday or Sunday works best for me. |

Might I suggest a lunch place parking lot? Other marque meets that I've attended were at a place where you get some food. It also accounts for late arrivals (within reason). Besides, would't you all want to know who talks with their mouth open and sprays beer at you when they talk?
I know of a couple places that have decent sized parking lots are: Bugaboo Creek, Braintree (About 2 blocks from the expressway) One of the clam shacks on Wollaston Beach (Quincy - right off the Neponset exit) - we could park on the seawall Or maybe at an icecream joint parking lot? Any ideas? |

A pub type place like you suggested would be good so people could order beer, appetizers, desert, anything really.. And people coming in late could grab a beer, etc just as easily..

I want to but I think I'm going to try to get to Cape Cod this weekend. I have a Snell 2005 helmet I bought for last autocross season. I was asking for my boss. He has a bunch of helmets from dirtbiking, motorcycles, etc, but I don't know if any of them are up to date enough. However for the driving school it looks like we might not even need to wear one? It doesn't mention anything on the website.. Just trying to clarify this for him.. Thanks for the responses..

For those of you (Josh ) who can't make the autocross event this weekend (we are closing registrations for it soon), we have others coming up on 7/8/2007 and 7/29/2007. Please come introduce yourself, or I'll come hunt down all the E9Xers that I see with people I haven't met before. We have yet to have a E91 or E92 at an event.
We have a great novice instruction program, with novice specific walkthroughs, cone school, and instructors to coach you throughout the day. |

Here's an idea for a gathering. Kimball Farm in Westford has a Cruise Night every Thursday. I went once with my M5. Not the biggest draw, but there were a few people who knew what they were looking at.
Would anybody want to meet up there? You think it's worth showing up to that event in an E9x?

Kimballs is a great place but would be a drive for me, even if it were a weekend. There's no way I could do a weeknight there, unfortunately.
Get me a coffee frappe, please. Btw, Hi Mitch.. hope all is well. |

Great! Still trying to figure out when to do this and where.
Seems my post at Bimmer Forums has grown a little. And a few others want to join in. Only issue is a location. At this moment I am estimating atleast 4-6 from Bimmer Forums and then atleast another 4-6 here. Not exact obviously, but if we go by that it is an estimate of 8-12 people probably closer to 12. Not to mention more could join in once we get a location and date. So although Nikki's location is great it seems this group size would be tough to get all together at that location. Does anyone know of other locations?

Well if we have too many people for the meters we will have to do pay parking which could be over $12. Otherwise yeah maybe abother location would be best.
