Someone backed into my car!!!!
Somebacked into my car and f@@ked up the paint in my rear bumper. Good thing is their is no damage to the bumper other then missing paint and my tow eye cover was nowhere to be found. Bad thing it was a hit and run so I am stuck with the bill. I was thinking that the work would cost me about 400 to 500 bucks at a body shop. I was wondering of doing this myself using the spray cans from paintscratch.com. I did a qoute and it came up for about 102. Do any of you guys have any experience with this company.

No but blending previous paint with new paint is really hard...some pros can't even get it right.

I have heard that metallic paints are the most difficult to blend, so you might not want to try it yourself unless you have previous experience.

I have painted parts on my car before with paint from www.touchuppaintonline.com. I have a white car and it didn't take any blending - it just matched dead on, so I was lucky.

It might be easier to just spray the entire bumper. Not to mention that it would come out looking much better. I own a custom cabinet business and I work with automotive paints all the time. Its very hard to touch up a piece and have it looking perfect. I always advise my clients to just re-spray the entire piece because even though it might be close to perfect, you will always know that defect is there.

if you actually like your car
...then this is the worst idea I have ever heard...if money is a problem, then I would just clay and polish the bumper and leave the rest alone...it would look better than an unmatched, uneven, and unprofessional spray can job... If you're just doing a lease turn in job...then sounds like a plan
