Will a 225/45-18 fit a 08 328xi ? In the tirerack site, it states a 225/40-18, the 225/45 -18 is coming off a 2010 328 coupe. thx

It should fit with stock suspension. They're a little taller than stock tires. If you're lowered, you may rub. It also depends on the wheels

I have a 2012 328i coupe and I have the 18 inch 397 wheels, which has the 225/45/18 tires. These tires are 1 full inch taller than the stock 17 inch set up. I also have the Eibach pro kit and I have no rubbing issues. The taller tire will change your gearing by about 3 percent. Very soon I will be ditching the run flat tires and when I do I am going to replace them with 22/40/18 tires. I am going to the recommended tire size only because I do not want the additional tire height from a gearing standpoint.

I'm not a mechanic by any means, but I would think the taller tires will have some impact on the X-drive ????? Can anyone comment on this

As long as all 4 tires are taller, it won't impact the X-Drive. As the other poster said, taller tires impact the speedometer. But the AWD system will only be impacted by front and rear tires that are sized differently, that's very bad for the transfer case.

In my case the taller tires helped with speedometer accuracy. Prior, an indicated 70 MPH was about 66 MPH. With the taller tires an indicated 70 MPH is now about 68 MPH.
