Honestly man, I can't tell you "Yeah, it's a piece of cake" it takes a bit of trial and error, you just have to have patience and take your time, let it dry, sand it, make even spray layers, be no closer than 7" away from the surface in order to avoid running paint marks on the surface...etc...etc.

Otherwise, it could be a costly mistake very quickly.

but seriously, if you have the patience it is a "Piece of cake"

Hey C

Yeah, 3 Days after the clear and it still felt a bit sticky to touch.
Def must have a well ventilated area. Total dry time for me was 5 days for a dry touch.
However if you have the stand with curing lights ( Or the cheaper floodlights $60 @ Lowels) pointed on the bumper continiously it shouldn't take more than 2 days top (Baking process)

Thanks for sharing! I'm planning to test this with an aero lip that I purchased a few months ago. A friend of a friend was supposed to paint it for me, but I never got a hold of him so I will try to do this myself.

Which spray paint primer should I purchase? Considering the fact that my color is SGM (Sparkling graphite metallic)/A22, should I get the Grey Primer Spray Paint since it's the closest colorwise?

Dude, that looks sick! You got balls for painting it yourself, but it came out great!

Really thinking of painting myself... but man that seems nerve racking. lol

What would you say the total paint process took time wise? prime, paint, clear, drying.

Hey Greek did you or are you planning on doing any cutting and buffing on the bumper? From spraying the clear I found it was almost impossible to get a good wet coat on the bumper..It has come out a little rough

No rough spots whatsoever, it is all in the buffing of the primer that determines how smooth it will feel. mines is as smooth as it was from factory.

600 grit on primer, base was very smooth after spraying...This is more of not laying on thick enough for the clear. Almost an overspray type of feel.

I know this thread is a few months old, just wondering how the paint is holding up? I'm doing an LCI conversion soon and looking to paint my own bumper after seeing yours. Would you recommend taking the hood to a pro or is that something you do yourself as well?
