I just got my LCI tails installed. Do these flicker upon engine start-up?

That sounds like a confusing question. Are you referring to the Bulb Flicking or your LCI Tails flickering?

I'm talking about the bulb flickering. My taillights don't flicker because I have the new FR3M and was coded by the dealership.

Flickering is caused by the car doing a check of the exterior bulbs. This will happen with any LED bulb installed on the car, and only happens when the car starts up.

I'll take a pair.
Also, do you know where I can find the headlight turn signal LED? Thanks! Fairly easy to install?

These work on E93 also
In case anyone is wondering, these lights do work well on E93 cars too, in my case a 2011 M3 E93. That said, the install is a PIA; you have to take off the tail lights completely and peel back the black foam seal to be able to get at the OEM bulb and remove it. The OEM bulb is held on by a plastic “clamp” and not torx screws, so because the base of the LUX LED reverse lights is slightly thicker it’s kind of difficult to get it clamped back in. But it is doable, and both my lights are now done, I’ve coded out the cold bulb check with NCS Expert so no flickers, and the lights do look awesome.
PS. if you're doing this install be VERY careful when taking the tail lights off and putting them back on, because if you accidentally drop one of the nuts holding the lights into the depths of the car you’re in for a couple of hours of taking things apart to retrieve the nut, at least based on my personal experience |
