How to Properly Start a BMW
Just wondering if there is a proper way to start a E9X just like the e46. In e46 the proper way is for fuel cell to build up then start the car.
Off topic subject: Have you notice that new cars are not as reliable as older cars? Because the company wants it to break so they can make more money of you. Also the more electrical stuff in a car the more the repair will be in the future. BTW:IDK what happen to my old account. So this is my new one. No more hellaflush just DZheng will do Last edited by HaroldLee; 01-07-2013 at 04:25 AM.. |

1) Stick key in slot (if no Comfort Access)
2) Press the brake or clutch 3) Push the start button

The fuel pump primes when the car "wakes up". eg when you unlock it. or when you open the door after letting it sit unlocked.

Yea wtf this is one messed up thread. How do you start a car? Then op claims cars don't last as long without backing it up with anything.... The same time a 200k thread is gaining lots of views and posts. More electrification like navigation and PFC and other such toys that people are wanting that weren't available in the past..... I'm not seeing the grand conspiracy only more features.

No offense but
Actually, on a serious note, I turn on the battery power, walk up to the front of the car, squeeze the safety lever and the yank the pull cord. Hard. Sometimes, if it's cold in the mornings, I first pull the choke and gradually turn if off as the car is warming up. Helps with misfire. I have Premium Package, so my car came with the priming bulb which I depress before starting. Hope this helps and good luck.

When you enter your car, the fuel pressure is already built up. Just start it and drive. |
