Pic taken of your car?

Caught two Dutchmen taking photos of my car today and not sure how I feel about it tbh.................how would you lot feel?

They didn't touch it and I didn't get chance to speak to them as they'd gone by the time I got back to my car.

Now don't be pedantic Stephen.

They drove off in a car with Dutch plates - not uncommon in and around 'Ull.

The cynic in me is supiscious, but maybe it was totally innocent?

I would feel flattered! They obviously really liked it!

They can't nick it without a key, so I wouldn't be too suspicious - you can't park a 997 Turbo without expecting some attention - doubt it is the first time someone has pulled out their camera phone and took a snap, prob won't be the last either

Dustmen do a great job. Let them have 5 minutes break and take a pic of your car. Let's hear it for all the dustmen.

How do you know they were Dutch, were they in national dress, smoking hash or viewing hard core porn?

I'd be absolutely delighted if a couple of stoned guys in clogs took a photo of my car.

If you had got to speak to them what would you have said? Do you speak Dutch?

Helen - maybe you have become a little complacent?

To many folk, even a bog standard 320d is a dream car - you have worked up from a 335, Cayman and now a 997 Turbo!

To a huge amount of people a 997T is a dream supercar they would buy 'if they won the lottery'

M3 - I see where Helen is coming from, as lovely as the 997 turbo is it is not a rare car, you also have people who couldn't even tell a turbo from a carrera2.

It probably won't be anything to worry about BUT just be careful, as there are people out there who are unsavoury, we all know that. I admit I'm the worse for it hardly ever lock my doors, nor do I always lock the car, habit of locking nothing !

I was hit with a 'wave' of anxiety when I saw two men approach my car and I can't go back to feeling/living that way again as it's too stressful.

Maybe I just wanted some reassurance about the incident but there we go eh.

Did you think they were going to steal it? Would make anyone wonder "what are they doing??"

No, they couldn't steal it because of the security fitted, and I know from experience that my mobile would ring as soon as the car is moved without the black tracker disc located in the car or in my handbag. (Forgot the black disc once when I used another handbag and cobra rang my mobile within five minutes of me driving without it - oops).

My car is so personal to me and I suppose I see it as 'attacking' me........hard to explain the emotions and they are irrational perhaps. My heart was pounding wondering what they were going to do and what I could do etc.

They didn't do anything and they were simply admiring it which is fair enough. Just the emotions that came over me that I need/want to control.

I would concur with the lads and suggest that your car is not that common and it would not surprise me if an enthusiast took a photo. Your wheels aren't standard, perhaps he snapped your car for future reference?

Moving to the slightly paranoid side, because your car is in the upper levels of the Porsche range perhaps they were documenting your car to facilitate ringing a similar car in the future - i.e. not necessarily your personal chariot.

Or they were sussing out your car. After all, Hull is convenient for escaping to the Continent. Now I would discount that one because they couldn't do it in an ad hoc way and the alternative is that they are keeping an eye out for specific cars to learn the pattern - and yours is one of them.... creepy AND paranoid!

I prefer my first paragraph.
