that's a good deal.
I had got an extended warranty for previous 328 for 2270, that was after a lot of discounting when buying the vehicle.

the dealer told me that as the car is used the extended warranty cost will increase. i.e. if i were to buy it with 35k mi on the car it would cost $500 more.
i did not choose to buy this for 335 since if i keep the vehicle above 40k i will spend it.

These prices appear reasonable;
When I purchased 10 months back was quoted $1795 for the Maintenance Upgrade and $2875 for the "BMW Original Protection" (extended warranty).
I opted for the Maintenance contract, since I will most likely use this for maintenance, therefore, it has value IMO. Did not opt for the ext warranty.
With the current soft market I suspect that you may be able to negotiate these costs lower, worth a try.

I think warranty may be worth it. Are brake parts covered under maintainance or warranty?

Brake parts are maintenance. I opted for the warranty b/c I don't want to be responsible for replacing a turbo - or one of the many, many computer systems. I didn't go for the maintenance b/c I do most of that stuff myself without a problem and it seems like a bunch of money (it makes sense if you would have the dealer do the work, but it's way over priced if you like to do your own stuff).

I paid that price for the warranty and I was offered the maintenance for about $1800 iirc. I think the prices you were quoted are reasonable.

Obviously, you have to be committed to the car for 100k miles for either of these plans to make sense for you.

I don't know about price but just bought a 2006 330i with the maintenance contract already on it. I took it in this weekend and learned a few things. Not only does the maintenace pay for all scheduled, it also pays for brake pads, rotors, clutch (I have a manual), belts, wiper blades and I might have missed a couple of things.

I think to 100k it would definitely pay for itself. You'll at least get new pads and rotors, some belts and don't forget the wiper blades.

Mine came certified pre-owned so it has the 6yr 100k warranty or so called BMW Protection. If i decide to keep the vehicle, I'll get the extended maintenance before 50k. One brake job and the maintenance will pay for itself.

Cert-Per Owned - but NO EXT Maint Plan

I plan on keeping the 328i well over 150k and do not even blink at the extended maint. Although I do think that the brake rotor and pad coverage makes the deal almost worth the price.
.
However, I am a car nut - I enjoy bonding with my cars & have found that timing belt changes, brake pad & rotor replacements, belt changes, oil changes & all the other simple maint stuf is really alot of fun.
.
As far as the brake pads are concerned -- thinking I will change them to a less dusting pad when i do replace them.
.
So, I do have the 6yr 100k warranty -- may look at a warranty beyond 6yr to cover the auto tranny when it fails.

I just went over 50k. Luckily I was able to get the brakes done at 49k. I decided not to go with the extended service plan figuring I would only have one more oil change before I need to decide what's next.

extended warranty

I want to buy the extended warranty for my 2007 328i convertible. Does anyone know of a good price? I was quote $2600 for 6yr/100k, or $3700 for 7yr/100k. Because my car has almost 50k miles at 3 years old, I am more interested in getting the 6yr/100k. If anyone knows of a dealer that is offering a good price for the extended warranty, please advise.

I have about 37k miles on my 2007 335i and this past week was quoted $3,490 for gold extended warranty 7years/100,000 miles (I don't have the nav system so no need for platinum) and $2,000ish for the maintenance 6years/100,000. That comes to more than $5,490 and I'm not so sure it is worth it. Still debating whether to purchase either.

I was told by 2 different dealers that the 7/100 platinum for my 08 335i with 24k miles was $2900. I dont see the need for the maintenance since I can do the work myself.

I bought warranty/maintenance to 100k miles for $2695. I bought it at 31k miles. Just had the rear brakes replaced at 32k miles due to tweeting noises. That kind of repair will be costly past 100k miles (for me).

Warranty and maintenance for $2,695.00? I find this hard to believe!

Brent, Where did you get your warranty/maintenance? Can you provide the dealership? I know some are cheaper than others, but that one is hard to believe so I want that deal! ahha
